Half pint at the Twickenham beer festival. Golden, flat with a bubbly head that survived longer than expected. Smells of hops, malted cereal and bit of fruit. Bitter finish, a touch fruity and with a hint of sulphur. Drinkable.

Nice blonde bitter. Plenty of citrus fruit and floral hoppiness. As far as i’m aware it’s won champion bitter of Britain as well at the GBBF.

[cask at Cloisters, Edinburgh] Golden bitter with a thin white head. Aromas of grassy, straw hops and caramel malt. On the taste, quite plain, bittery notes – some dryness on the finish, a touch of mild citrus. Aftertaste was better, more fruit and a lasting dry bitterness. A sessionable bitter [12082011]

Cask at Cloisters. Pours a blonde colour with a thick, tight white head. Aroma of musty honey and hay. Similar flavours with some barley also. Quite bitter with a foamy mouth-feel. Long bitter linger.

Cask at the Plough and Harrow (JDW), Hammersmith. Bright amber with a loose white head; citrusy, fruity, aroma; rich with a fruity flavour - reminding me of apricot jam; the finish has biscuit and some zingy grapefruit. Very appealing, and excellent compromise between light golden ales and traditional bitter - the best of both.

UPDATED: AUG 4, 2011 More oranges on the nose and taste this time, maybe even apricot. The palate and overall effect is much better this time!

50cl bottle. Pours a hazy golden with steady bubbles and a good head. The nose has pine and grapefruit. The taste has grapefruit pith, some floral notees, then a pine & pith finish. The palate medium bodied with a creamy texture and a fresh zingy finish. Overall, a tastey beer that could be sessioned too.
