50 cl bottle.
Pours clear golden color with a small head. Grain and grass, some cardboard notes and hints of honey. Grassy, grainy and pale malty flavor, faint honey and wooden notes. Slick, thin, straightforward, dull, quite strong carbonation. Not very pleasant.

Golden ochre with lots of sparkling, huge frothy head is medium long and off-white. Grainy mild aroma, grass, bit caramel. Medium body, round, carbonation works, semidry, long grainy finish has also bit fruit notes. Bit one-sided but flavors not bad, just lacks nuances.

50 cl bottle @ home, BBE 04/2016
Lots of foaming and yeast(?) particles when pouring – unusual for a British beer. Aroma has peaches, biscuits and funky yeast. Also some hay and minerals. So far this has quite a strong Belgian feeling. Lots of CO2 and foam on palate – makes this hard to drink. Flavour has minerals, grainy tones, some yeast and hints of citrus. At the beginning this feels rather straightforward. And at the middle of the glass this has gained rather strong and unpleasant herbal bitterness. A bit unusual for a Bitter, more like a golden ale. Not the most typical golden ale either, though. And not a beer for me; drinking this started well but I finally ended up with drain pour.

500 ml bottle. L4044. BB Feb/16. (K-Citymarket) Pirkkala, Finland.
Very lively golden colour with a huge foamy white head. Toffee, fruity and floral hops, mild bitterness and sweetish caramel malt in the aroma. The flavour is floral hops, mild citric notes, some bitterness, caramel and dryness. Balanced. Tasty. Very nice package for a 4.3% ale. Some hoppy bitterness in the aftertaste. This won the best Bitter gold medal in GBBF in 1998. A lot has changed since 1998 but this is still pretty damn good.

Bottle, Christmas gift from Alan. Hazy golden body with yeast flecks floating around. Thin white head that holds well. Excellent lacing. Aroma of apricot and cereal. Dry, fruity flavour - peach, orange and apricot. Honey and grass in there too. Medium body with a watery, slightly oily texture. Soft carbonation. A fruity, sessionable beer - a cross between a Golden Ale and a Bitter.
