3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask conditioned at The White Horse, Banbury. Gold with white head. This was quite light and sweetish on the malts with a fruity hop flavour, tangerine came to mind, just a hint of tanginess and a late bitterness. Pretty decent.

Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Copper with a small white head. Pleasant malt aroma of the ’dusty old sacks in barn’ variety. Distinctively fruity, near vinous taste. Some sourness and background malt. Sharp bitter finish. I enjoyed this. ABV is definitely 4.6% nowadays.

(Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm, 8 April 2011. 4.6% abv) Golden amber colour with foamy, off-white head. Fruity, malty nose with peaches, flowers and ripe pears. Fruity taste with notes of citrus, peaches, pears and a floral bitterness in the finish. Rather light body, quite sweet. Enjoyable and refreshing.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Fruity - peach and banana - esters. Creamy in the mouth, pale malts, some grain and a little lactic. Low on hops, and fruity esters poke out instead. Doesn’t seem to know what it is.

Cask, Far From The Madding Crowd, Oxford. Copper, a bit of white head. Vague caramel aroma, a little flower pollen, blackberry. Soft wandering malt sweetness with a little toast. A touch of bitterness. Nothing offensive, but not much to praise.

Cask (gravity dispense) at London Drinker Beer Festival, March 2006. Very bright golden yellow colour. Generous amount of aromatic hop in the aroma, with citric and resinous notes. Less on the palate. Fairly restrained bitterness. Light, easy-drinking mouthfeel. Decent but not spectacular.
