COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is named after the famous Strawberry Line railway which used to pass close by this brewery’s location. It is a golden bitter, with a hint of real Cheddar strawberries, complementing the fruity blackcurrant flavour from the English hops used. Hops used: Bramling Cross and Goldings

Cask Handpump at the Paramount JDW, Manchester 15/11/2010 Fruity aroma. White head. Clear golden coloured hoppy and fruity with strawberry and blackcurrant flavours. A hint of dryness in a creamy and bitter malt finish.

Cask handpull at Penderel’s Oak, JDW, Holborn. Gold lasting creamy head. Faint touch of strawberry on aroma. Yes, it has strawberries in flavour. Interesting battle of sweet fruit and bitter beer goiong on. Even a touch whiskyish. It’s not horrible, but I wouldn’t say it works brilliantly either. It’s interesting.

Cask, handpump at The Penny Black, Bicester, Oxon, 11.12.10 Pours golden in colour, touch sweet with some strawberryness, actually it’s a little like jammy dodgers, some bitterness, it’s fine but nothing special. A6 A3 T6 P3 Ov12 3.1

From cask at The Crystal Palace. Pours clear and golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma is mild strawberry fruity. Hoppy, slight citrusy and mild strawberry fruity. Bitter and slight malty finish.

Cask conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Copper with slight head. Sweet beer with a cheap, artificial strawberry note, Bazooka Joe Bubblegum came to mind. Not that pleasant.

Cask Conditioned Handpump Red Well Wellingborough. A hazy blonde beer with a thick white head. Definitely fruity with obvious strawberries. A reasonable body. The fruit does seem a bit artificial but it’s drinkable enough.

Cask. The High Cross, Leicester. Thin white head, clear gold body. Strawberry, gentle hop, vanilla. Sickly sweet. Sweet finish. This is essentially crap, and difficult to finish even a third pint of this.

Cask at Pilgrim’s Progress (JDW), Bedford, in ’Spoons Beer Festival ’10. Orange amber with a small white head. Faint and not unattractive jammy aroma. Taste is full of rather vegetal fruitiness. Mid bitter finish. Not impressed at first, but to be fair, it improved with a longer acquaintance.

The Baron of Stinckley. Bronze-gold, good draped head. Wet straw and honey aroma. Mouth a ladle of honey, good biting hop, lingering creamy cashew malt, but utterly hijacked by (what feels like) synthetic low cal strawberry. Good length. Yuk.
