3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle: Black, cola hued edges, thin to moderate beige head, spotty lacing. Deep roasty soy on the nose. Stale graham cracker and a bit of alcohol as well. Strong chalky roastiness up front, some soy, lighter than the nose suggested. Backside is a little dry and chalky. Definitely malt sided, soy, roasted malts, and graham cracker. Not bad, big, but also fairly average. Thanks for the bottle Bill!

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
For a 4 Pack that I bought 6 days ago, it’s about time I had one! Served in a shaker- poured a nontransparent solid black (only description available until another color other than black comes along), 5mm darkened tan head formed and did lace mightily. Aroma of enough hops to choke a horse, hate, and a burnt to hell malt- I like it. Hits the mouth with a wide body, malt was indeed burnt to hell but it loved every minute of it, the harshness of the malt plus the hop wave in the middle makes for a fantastic acidity on the finish with cocoa beat into submission- but at least it puts out a whimper. If you don’t like it, go put your tiny balls in the freezer beer bitches...yeah!

Beer pours black with a modest, retained dark tan colored head. Aromas hit all the right notes for an impy stout, coffee, very roasty, some light hop citrus. Flavor is quite sweet with some nice bitterness in the finish. The finish is dry as well. This is quite a great beer. Hats off to Real Ale!

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle at cgarvieuk’s Danish Invasion. Deep black pour, thick off-white head sticks around. Big nose, surprisingly hoppy, real roast malts, hint of vanilla, blackberry fruits. Bittersweet chocolate, some light vanilla, lovely mellow roast malts, hint of sweet coffee, prickly alcohol, ever-present citrus hops and a nice long finish. Lovely.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Sampled at Schlafly 2012 Repeal Fest. Pours dark brown with a tan head. The aroma has lots of roast, cream, dark cocoa, light anise and some alcohol. Full body that is rich with frothy carbonation on the finish. The flavor starts with lots of roast, earthy / spicy hops and some char - very full and rich. The finish is pleasantly abrasive from both the earthy hops and roasted malt. Well done imperial stout.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft sample at the Schlafly Repeal of Prohibition Festival, 2012. Pours a deep, mostly opaque, kind of murky dark brown with a small tan ring for a head. The hops are noticeable immediately in the aroma, along with some roast and a lot of bitter dark chocolate. The flavor brings all the same notes along with orange peel and toasted sugar. Medium-bodied, with a bitter mouthfeel and modest carbonation. Hoppy imperial stout. Not bad.

Sampled at repeal. A lightveating black pour. This is all about chocolate and is almost like drinking a chocolate pie. A bit of fitrus hops are found way down deep. Nice.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz. bottle courtesy of a trade with crajun. Pours a deep opaque brown with clear reddish brown edges when held against sunlight. There is a moderate tan head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass and left substantial lace. Pleasant aroma of chocolate and roasted malt. Very flavorful with ample roasted malt, a bit of char, and chocolate. Fairly smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Medium-full bodied. Very good!

Secret Santa 2011 bottle. Nice impy stout. Very darkly roasted with some bitterness from burnt toast and cold coffee notes. Still a fair amount of hop bite left too. Pleasant overall.
