COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A Majestic Ale For A Momentous Occasion. This noble brew evolved from its common cousins, porter and stout, by necessity to endure the long voyage to the Russian royal court. Colossal additions of American hops are used to balance the robust malt character and infuse this ale with their distinctly citrus-like qualities. 15th Anniversary Ale can be consumed now or laid down for further enjoyment. Take some home to share with friends and family at your court.

12 oz bottle from Hopper; thanks a bunch! Nose is chocolate, toffee, and light vanilla, black with reddish brown edges and a small cinnamon tan head head that laces lightly but dissippates quickly. Flavor is chocolate with moderate pepperiness and light bitterness with a chocolatey and coffee laced finish.

UPDATED: JAN 27, 2012 Wow; this brewery keeps improving; this is a VERY good impy stout! roasted black pour. Nice roasted aroma. GREAT palate - very velvety smooth. Taste was a nice combo of roasted stuff, a chocolate cocoa powder and slight alcohol will have again drink COLD

Deep brown or black - not much head. Aroma is chocolate. Taste is a deep porter with a very slight burnt, harsh edge which flows into some vanilla in the finish.

Bottled. Poured fairly deep brown with a short-lived khaki head. The aroma picked up bright, fresh, earthy and sprucey bitterness plus peppery alcohol and rye over buttery chocolates, black patent, and some vanilla.. quite bright overall, and I’m not sure it worked. The flavor found slightly less buttery and very roasty black malts at the core, with scratchy, earthy bitterness and peppery boozage around.. pine showed on the latter half.. finished with a lot of fresh citrus hoppy bitterness and full alcohol warmth.. this got better as the drink progressed. Heavier-bodied with filling, perfectly-adequate carbonation on the palate.. velvety feel across the middle, with heavy hops and alcohol cutting through at the proper times.. this wasn’t great, but it grew on me, and I’d have another.

12-oz. Thanks Bob! Jet black with very little head. Dark coffee nose, big and toasty. Oily and charred. Sticky thick body. Lots of oily, roasty, gourmet coffee on the mid-palate. Gets dry at the end. Big, dark, heavy, and lovely.

Pours deep brown/black with ruby hues...medium mocha head. Aroma has dark fruit and tobacco...hint of vanilla. Flavor has a bit more vanilla...very roasty with burnt toffee and slight smoke...definite dark fruit. Mouthfeel is heavy and creamy with a roasted warming dark fruit finish.

dark brown, large coffee bubbles linger against glass, wispy head. Nose is heavy plum and sugar, light bakers chocolate, lightly over-bubblegum estery. Flavor a bit more cocoa and salt, lightly syrupy through mid with a bit of cookie at the finish, bit more salt as well.
