3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12oz bottle from Mora2000, thanks Bill! Pours a black body with a thin, creamy, dark brown head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing throughout. Aroma is roasty with a good amount of piney hops along with some molasses and chocolate malts. Some bitter cocoas and citruses along with a touch of anise. Flavor is similar. Roasty up front with a medium sweet molasses and chocolate malt as well as a good amount of piney hops. Some citrus comes in during the middle as well as some anise and wood. Piney hops kick it up a bit at the end as well as the roast as this dries with a medium-high bitterness. Lengthy aftertaste following a medium-full body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, a highly hopped, but well balanced imperial stout. Good amount of roasts and a bit of a molasses/chocolate sweetness balances well. Pretty easy drinking and really enjoyable.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours black with a small mocha-colored head that fades to a small ring. Aroma of dark chocolate, moderate fudge, anise, citrus, toffee, wood, and an underlying roast. Pleasing nose. Flavor has the anise and citrusy hops upfront with dark chocolate, bitter coffee (Italian roasts?), wood, chargrill, and an assertive alcohol presence. Finishes with espresso and sambuca, and lingering earth and roast. Pretty full bodied but the carbonation is prickly and the mouthfeel just isnít that wholesome. Still, this is a sound imperial stout with plenty to like and a good balance of elements.

BottleÖ Pours tar black with a small, creamy, beige head. Decent retention. The aroma is full of caramel and dark chocolate with hints of blackberries and black cherries. Full-bodied with an oily mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Balanced nicely, the flavor offers fruity cherries, blackberries and raspberries swimming in rich, bittersweet dark chocolate. Finishes quite roasty and moderately bitter. The berry esters are a real treat here! Bottle courtesy of ericandersnavy!

GABF 2011. Black with a thin tan head. Deep aroma of heavy roasted black malts, dark bakers chocolate, molasses. Flavor was equally dark and roasty. Smoky dark bakers chocolate, a touch of coffee, pretty sweet and really big. Loads of dark chocolate malt. Great stout.

Tap @ Saucer .. pours a deep brown .. medium foam .. roast and tar mostly .. way to easy to drink, just wish i could get a few bottles.. . is the perfect candidate, as long as the viewer can deal with cheeriness that borders on insanity.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz bottle. Cellar temp.
IT pours a dense black with a foamy tan head.
The smell is nice, a mix of sugars and cocoa with a bit of dark fruit and yeast action.
The flavor is nice. It has a rich roasty bitter cocoa flavor along with some caramel and dark fruits. It is mildly alcoholic which is nice considering the abv.
The mouthfeel is just a tad it think, but I really like the mouthfeel.
