A Majestic Ale For A Momentous Occasion. This noble brew evolved from its common cousins, porter and stout, by necessity to endure the long voyage to the Russian royal court. Colossal additions of American hops are used to balance the robust malt character and infuse this ale with their distinctly citrus-like qualities. 15th Anniversary Ale can be consumed now or laid down for further enjoyment. Take some home to share with friends and family at your court.

dark brown, large coffee bubbles linger against glass, wispy head. Nose is heavy plum and sugar, light bakers chocolate, lightly over-bubblegum estery. Flavor a bit more cocoa and salt, lightly syrupy through mid with a bit of cookie at the finish, bit more salt as well.

Thanks to ericandersnavy for this one! Pours black with a very slight tan head - very transient head. Rich, roasty, toffee, burnt malt in the aroma. Full bodied. Flavor is rich burnt malt with treacle/toffee. Quite a good sipper. I have no idea how to describe the colossal hop component. But this finishes nicely bitter as well as treacle. Dang good stuff.

355mL thanks to blutt59. Deep mahogany pour with a healthy, mocha head diminishes quickly. Thick formation. No lace. Nose is quite nice: cedar, piney hops, cocoa, vanilla, small red apples, savory iodine/nori, big kalamata olives. Taste is silky, richer, nice cedar component, bitter hoppiness. Very soft palate with excellent bitter dark chocolate to balance. The right direction for this style. Silky and hoppy rather than super sweet maple and vanilla adjunct. Good stuff.

Bottle thanks to CLevar. Dark brown pour, lasting lacing and an aroma of chocolate and raisins. Flavor is also chocolate, some green peppers and slightly boozy. Thanks Caleb!

Bottle from Hopper, thanks! Dark brown pour with a light brown/mocha head, diminishing, with no lacing. Aroma is coffee, chocolate, light smoke. Taste is light roast, lots of coffee, bitter chocolate, slight hop character lending a nice bitterness to the back end. Slightly thin for the style. Not bad.

12oz bottle from Mora2000, thanks Bill! Pours a black body with a thin, creamy, dark brown head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing throughout. Aroma is roasty with a good amount of piney hops along with some molasses and chocolate malts. Some bitter cocoas and citruses along with a touch of anise. Flavor is similar. Roasty up front with a medium sweet molasses and chocolate malt as well as a good amount of piney hops. Some citrus comes in during the middle as well as some anise and wood. Piney hops kick it up a bit at the end as well as the roast as this dries with a medium-high bitterness. Lengthy aftertaste following a medium-full body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, a highly hopped, but well balanced imperial stout. Good amount of roasts and a bit of a molasses/chocolate sweetness balances well. Pretty easy drinking and really enjoyable.

Pours black with a small mocha-colored head that fades to a small ring. Aroma of dark chocolate, moderate fudge, anise, citrus, toffee, wood, and an underlying roast. Pleasing nose. Flavor has the anise and citrusy hops upfront with dark chocolate, bitter coffee (Italian roasts?), wood, chargrill, and an assertive alcohol presence. Finishes with espresso and sambuca, and lingering earth and roast. Pretty full bodied but the carbonation is prickly and the mouthfeel just isn’t that wholesome. Still, this is a sound imperial stout with plenty to like and a good balance of elements.

1 liter growler contributed by vanvips, thanks curt... Pours a deeper shade of stout with reddish brown tinges and topped with a creamy light beige head... Aroma of roast and cocoa chocolate, semi-sweet with dark fruit cmin through late... Smooth creamy consistency with notes of chocolate, mild roast, and dark fruit components. Nice, light fluffy mouthfeel. Pretty easy going.

Black color with tan sheen. Rich milk chocolate, dark roast malt, dark coffee aromas. Smooth medium full body with soft co2. Very nice medium sweet chocolate fudge, with deep roast malt, mild char flavors--very good

Bottle from Dr. Jeckyll’s. Dark pour with a light brown head. Aroma is licorice, roasted, and chocolate. Taste is lots of roast, alcohol, licorice, and even more big ass roast.
