COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Real Ale’s take on this classic German style is unfiltered and unabashedly bold. This lager is brewed with 100% premium German malt and hops, creating a robust malt backbone that finishes dry, matched by a firm yet balanced hop bitterness. The drier finish and elevated hop presence will distinguish this Doppelbock from its typically sweeter and less hoppy peers. We call it The Hexadecimator, a tribute both to our 16th year, and to the landscape of lagers it shall soon lay to waste!

GABF, 2012, Friday Evening. Listed in the program as "Hexa Decimator." A good palate to this classic doppelbock. Sweet with caramel and malt as well as some tannin quality. Fairly thick. Fully flavored and a sweet finish.

dark tan .. foam is acceptable .. . great palate and flavour- probably the best american doppel ever made .. . . i mean i’m not a fan of doppels for the most part, it takes something amazing for me to even like them- but this was like the spice channel when i was 12...

On tap at Realtail 2012. Pours a cloudy copper with a medium creamy off white head that lasts awhile. The aroma is a roasted malt and caramel. Thin mouthfeel with a light vanilla malt and oak with nice smooth finish. Easy to drink, really enjoyed this doppelbock from Real Ale.

The aroma is sweet and boozy. The appearance is dark and murky. The taste is dark but the finish is a little off cause of the high amount of alcohol. This brew finishes sweet. The palate is different than most other beers. Overall, this is an interesting beer, so go ahead and try it.

Dark, clear, reddish-amber with a decent sized, moderately lacing, beige head. Aroma of caramel, bread, light grass. Rich malty character, sweet but not cloying, slight hint of alcohol in the flavor. Medium-full bodied and really smooth. Very nice doppelbock, not very complex, but very (almost dangerously) easy drinking and very well done.
