COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Gose is a rarely brewed regional specialty beer from Northern Germany. A slightly sour ale, it is known for its use of coriander and a unique saltiness that is derived from the local water source. Our first batch of Gose was brewed on a 7 bbl system with our friends at Odell Brewing Company. The recipe is the same now as it was then: a high percentage of malted wheat, acidulated malt to lower pH and impart a subtle sour character, with fresh ground coriander and crystal salt to finish the boil. As a twist on the original German brews, whole limes were pureed and added to the beer after fermentation. The result is a delightfully tart and most refreshing tipple, a perfect beer for a Texas celebration. Thank you to our friends in Colorado for sharing in this creation; thank you to our friends here at home for enjoying it with us after 18 years.

Can in trade from blutt59, thanks for the opportunity! Slightly hazy deep yellow with a small bubbly white head that fades quickly. Smells like salty limeade. The flavor is lime and lemony with a hint of spice and lots of saline. I’m missing the lactic tartness that should be here. Decent tasting but not what I was expecting.

Pours hazy yellowish gold with a large, quick-fading white head. Smells slightly tart and citrusy with a hint of saltiness. Taste is subtle tart, subtle salt. Light-bodied with a wet texture and soft mouth-carbonation, Real Ale Gose finishes with a subtle lingering tang.

UPDATED: JUN 26, 2016 Huge lime nose. Cloudy yellowish orange color. With a white head that quickly collapses. Slight salty flavor. Lacking on the lime and salt flavor that previous years releases have provided. Finishes with a buttery popcorn flavor.

EXPLODED CAN!!! Hazy golden coloured body with a fast-dying white head, about a single centimetre tall. Aroma of yeast, sour grapes, light wheat, grass and a good deal of tart cherries - very nice. Light to Medium-bodied; Assertive tart and sour notes coupled with some smooth yeast and wheat, finishing with a little grass and herbal notes. Aftertaste shows a little sweetness, but a pure and smooth wheat flavour that goes down easy and has a good deal of tartness and a touch of saltiness. Overall, a nice gose with some good flavours, a nice profile and some smooth complexity at the end. Would have been even better had the can not exploded on me, but as I was moving some beers, I saw a can on top of this one that was askew, so I moved the other can, lifted this one up, and it exploded in my hand - luckily, no injury or shrapnel - just the top popped, scared me, but didn’t cut me even. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Spec’s Liqour in Dallas, Texas on 01-September-2015 for US$8,41/six pack, sampled at home in Washington on 23-December-2015, less than four months after purchasing it and storing it at room temperature.

murky gold, white head drops fast. Dirty tea nose, heavy citrus and off acid, plenty of wheat. Front palate is sticky wheat, moderate citrus, lightly dirty with grass. Sticky and contrasting with high effervescence and a few glaring errors.

Can:   Pale straw, little head, no lacing.   Very much a lemon/lime like aroma.   Spritzy and tart on the tongue.   Very spritzy.   Seems like a lemon/lime spritzer to me.   Very refreshing actually.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Tart and semi-sweet finish, lemon/lime linger.   Lots o burps on this one.

(Can) Mildly hazed golden pour, almost no head to speak of. Lime, citrus on the nose. A bit of a slick mouthfeel led to a crisp taste of grainy malt, citrus, and spiced apple before a dry finish.
