3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This beer poured jet black with decent tan head. The alcohol is not hidden very well in this beer but once you swollow the first sip it gets much better with a smooth velvety mouthfeel. I could not detect much aroma at all and was sort of confused with the style name. Essentially a Quad with black patent or chocolate malt. Finishes with an urge for more.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Deep black pour, slight head. Nose is slightly metallic with roasted malt, toffee, and dark fruit. Lots more dark fruit in the flavor, toffee, and some alcohol burn.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Central market bottle. Wow, pours like a porter but a small head. Aroma is nice: fairly sweet, both malt and sugar. Big malt flavor and sweetness in the flavor but not really well strung together. The booze is a little noticeable too. Fine though.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Deep-almost opaque-, clear, brown-red with a tan head. Lacing is very light. Aroma of dark fruit, caramel, banana, and alcohol. Tastes sweet and fruity, and yeasty with light alcohol. Medium bodied, smooth, and a touch oily. Decent quad, and unusually easy drinking for the style and abv.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark fruits and lighter yeast esters (banana), molasses, a hint of roasted grain, chocolate, tar, a speck of citrus, spices, and generous ethanol in the aroma (increasingly so with temperature). Busy, but enticing. The taste is spicy and malty, with the roasted character and the darker fruity esters making more of a guest appearance. Viscous palate with gentle carbonation. I was looking forward to a more candi-sugar type of taste, but it was very good nonetheless.

UPDATED: NOV 5, 2012 This is my new go to beer... Thank you Sjohnny! Strong, dark, sweet flavor. It reminds me of learning to drink sweet coffee without cream. Great dark color, no head, sweet aroma.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 7/20
A dark fruit and figs nose. Pours an opaque dark brown with a dark tan head and fine lacing along the ring as you drink. The taste is overall medium sweet with nods to sweet malts and cheeries. Some alcohal is noted in the finish. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Overall, while pleasing, it is overly sweet for my tastes.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
(12oz bottle best by 10-08-2013) clear, very deep ruby, no head or bubbles at all. Nose of subtle dark fruit, grain mash, spices, not complex. Taste is exceptionally malty without the complexity a quad requires. Sweet but no raisins, dates and figs. Toasty and a touch metallic. Banana esters, undercarbonated by a mile, not my favorite quad ever.
