UPDATED: NOV 5, 2012 This is my new go to beer... Thank you Sjohnny! Strong, dark, sweet flavor. It reminds me of learning to drink sweet coffee without cream. Great dark color, no head, sweet aroma.

Wow- amazing smell, like pancake syrup and toast jelly and molasses. Has a bite but so smooth. Shared a couple of bottles and felt good afterwards.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours dark mahogany with a tiny light tan head. Smells of dark fruits and hints of dark roast. Taste is dark fruits with hints of roast and bread and a tiny hint of booze. Full-bodied with a smooth texture and soft mouth-carbonation, Real Ale Brewer’s Cut Black Quad finishes with a vinous tingle.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: NOV 18, 2012 Yeast and caramel aroma. Pours a glistening dark brown like polished tourmaline. When it first hit my tongue I said "Oh Wow". It’s like a good stout and a good quad fell in love, got married and had a baby. They gave birth at the Real Ale Brewery and named their baby Brewer’s Cut Black Quad. Root beer, toffee, fruit, caramel. Ever so slight coffee bitterness on the finish.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Black brew with very little head. Has sweet fruitish smell with some alcohol. Taste is simular but with a very sweet chocolate maltiness to it and some hints of a banana flavor. The slight alcohol burn really goes well with this cold day. Hope the store has more because I want to save some for January when it gets really cold.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Very dark brown, almost mistakably black, in color with a thin, dense, off-white/light brown head, this beer is exactly what it’s called. A Belgian black (i.e. roasted malt) quadrupel. It smells sweet, deep and malty without excessive roasted characteristics. There must be something wrong with my nose today because I can’t smell anything. For certain, though, there’s nothing odd about the nose.
In the mouth, you get a neat, deep caramel sweetness and (again) despite the darkness of the beer, practically no roasted malt flavors. It’s a very smooth, tame, and easy beer in the mouth, with that sweetness and almost creamy body running the show. Being a quad, I’m sure there’s quite a lot of alcohol in this - but I can’t taste it. The caramel sweetness and possibly beet sugar follow through to the finish, really keeping true to the roots of a Belgian Quad, while giving off a very dark roasted color. And did I mention... without the roasted malt flavors? Good job, guys. Man, it’s even sticky on the lips. Love it.
