COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

This marriage of Amarillo hops to our favorite Porter recipe was initially devised on a very small scale, a mere 10.7 gallons to be exact. For this version we’ve tweaked our usual hop additions to build harmony between the smooth, caramel roast of the Porter and the floral and citrus character that comes from a substantial dry-hop addition. 15°

Deep dark brown, small head. Aroma is very IPA-like, lots of citrus and pine but a sweet maltiness also. Nice bitter chocolate/coffe flavor, with hints of pine. Quite different and quite good.

Initially some smoke and hop aroma. Citrus taste, the hops came through. A nice tasty hopped porter, well integrated with a hoppy finish. A few weeks after best date but it was just fine. A very nice porter, thanks Beerenberger.

bottle to glass. great aroma!! perfect roasted malt aroma and wood? nice dark brown pour - unfortunately the palate was thin and the taste wasn’t as good as the aroma. will try again and let it warm more before drinking...

This beer pours dark reddish brown with a flavor to match. The roasted hops are evident in the aroma and the very drinkable beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle courtesy pikapp327. Pours a clear brownish red color with a foamy beige head. Aroma is roasty, spicy hops, chocolate notes. Flavor is dry hops, roasty grains with some sweetness. Pretty good!

Central Market bottle best by 03.17.13. This delivers what it promises: a hoppy porter. I liked how it was well balanced between the piney hops and the dark roast of the porter. Tasty.

Dark brown with reddish notes and clear, head and lace were pretty good. Aroma is a little odd, quite hoppy yet still with roasty and toasty notes. The flavor follows the nose and isn’t too far off from a typical porter, but with more hops character. Bitterness is about spot on tho, it’s not a porter-IPA mix or anything. Body is medium with medium carbonation and a roasty finish. It’s pretty enjoyable. Maybe not my favorite porter, but certainly someone put some effort into this beer.

Poured form bottle into pint glass. Pours a dark brown with almost no head. Aroma is sweet of dark malts; can only smell a small amount of hops that the dry hopping was supposed to add to the beer. Front taste is slightly hoppy for quick amount and then is over taken by the dark malts. After taste has a light coffee finish. Average carbonation with a thin mouthfeel to it. Not overly impressed with this. Was hoping for more of a hoppy aroma since it was dry hopped and was also hoping for a thicker body to it.

Really nice blend of dark roasted malt and piny hops. If chocolate covered pine cones were a thing they’d taste like this.
