COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
BC003
This marriage of Amarillo hops to our favorite Porter recipe was initially devised on a very small scale, a mere 10.7 gallons to be exact. For this version we’ve tweaked our usual hop additions to build harmony between the smooth, caramel roast of the Porter and the floral and citrus character that comes from a substantial dry-hop addition. 15°

Bottle at home. Clear brown. Not sure the age but I do know that the hops seem to have mellowed. Chocolate, light roast, slight hop notes. I like how this has aged

Bottle:   Deep caramel, moderate to large foamy sandy head, spotty lacing.   Not that dark for a Porter.   Roasty nose, a little acrid, slight pixie stix like powdery sugar sweetness.   Moderately roasty on the tongue, powdery sugar sweetness, with a strong airiness on the tongue that makes me think this is on the downslope.   Has a slight hoppy background, a little dry and husky too.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Soft roasty finish.   Seems like a Danish Porter given its airy powdery sugar sweetness.   Tiz okay, but seems a little artificial at times.   Meh...   Thanks Bill!

Initially some smoke and hop aroma. Citrus taste, the hops came through. A nice tasty hopped porter, well integrated with a hoppy finish. A few weeks after best date but it was just fine. A very nice porter, thanks Beerenberger.

This beer pours dark reddish brown with a flavor to match. The roasted hops are evident in the aroma and the very drinkable beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Central Market bottle best by 03.17.13. This delivers what it promises: a hoppy porter. I liked how it was well balanced between the piney hops and the dark roast of the porter. Tasty.
