COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Caramel brown with a hint of chocolate, Brewhouse Brown melds four kinds of malt to create a satisfying, thirst-quenching brew. Best enjoyed at 55 degrees, this ale is slightly rich and roasty, yet leaves a dry finish. It is the perfect companion for a hearty meal.

Pretty auburn brown color and clear, one finger head was ok and left some lacing. Smell is brown sugar, molasses, nuts, chocolate, caramel. Flavor is sweet but not overpoweringly so, with a nutty component, some chocolate, toffee, molasses, brown sugar, and a well balancing bitterness from the hops. Medium body with smooth, medium levels of carbonation. Sweet, nutty aftertaste. Overall it’s quite enjoyable. I have enjoyed beers from this company so far, and plan to try more of them when I can.

Bottle courtesy of crajun from the Local Beer Swap Threeve. Thanks Kevin. Pours a clear dark brown with a medium sized tanned beige head. Roasty malt, a touch of edgy paper to it, some dark plums and fruit. Medium bodied, plums, dark fruit, rather sweet for a brown and I get nothing nutty and malty. More sweetness moves into roast and a touch of chocolate. Sweetness into bitterness on the finish. Drinkable, but not overly exciting. Lacking crispness and bite.

I’m more of an amber beer fan, not a brown ale fan, but this one was pretty good coming out of the variaty pack.
