Caramel brown with a hint of chocolate, Brewhouse Brown melds four kinds of malt to create a satisfying, thirst-quenching brew. Best enjoyed at 55 degrees, this ale is slightly rich and roasty, yet leaves a dry finish. It is the perfect companion for a hearty meal.

Bottle. Pours hazy dark brown with a large tan head. Aroma is lightly roasted malt with some caramel and brown sugar. Flavor is moderately sweet caramel malt, with some roasted note, bit of fruitiness, and mild hopping. Pretty decent brown.

Clear medium brown pour, no head to speak of. Nose is mild coffee and roasted grain. Bittersweet. Middle is nutty malt, medium mouth-feel, touch of coco. Sweetness tapers off some at the end, but still controls the flavor profile. Nice Brown.

Tap at Cottonwood. Brown pour but not terribly dense. Smaller white head. Nut and coffee, hint of sweetness. Not bad in the style for sure.

Pours chestnut brown with a beige head. The aroma has nutty toasted malt, mild bread, hazelnuts and richness. It has a medium body with modest carbonation. The flavor starts with less rich / drier version than the aroma with more dry bread, muddy malt and nutty notes. The finish is dry and has some light hops along with the rest. Nice brown ale.

How do you say NO when you are the only one in the room? Almost no head on crisp medium brown. OK malt scent. Wow, pretty good brown ale flavor. Creamy body. Roasty. Nice!!

Appearance: pours with a small tan head, the beer is practically black except when you hold it up to light you can see amber hues Aroma: dark roasted malt, some flowers, coffee, a bit faint Taste: dark roasted malt but not overpowering, some sweetness, minimal bitterness Palate: lively carbonation, leaves mouth wet, lighter mouthfeel for style, not much after taste Overall: seems to be a pretty good session beer after I check the abv, easy drinking, not overly strong in the flavor department ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a bright mahogany colour with light lacing. A nose of discreet nut and dark chocolate. Notes of roasted hazelnut and hints of dark chocolate on the palette. Enjoyably crisp for a brown ale and not at all sweet. With grateful thanks to a friend who carried this bottle carefully from it’s home in Texas across the pond.
