Aromas of an gourmet cafe with toasty malts, chocolate and coffee, Near black tinges of amber red when held to light and a tan head. Taste is quite bold and just as it sounds a deep rich coffee and porter with good body. Overall this is rather fantastic and would pair well with smoked... anything as well as rich desserts.

On draught at Freakin’ Frog. Brownish-black color with a medium foamy tan head that recedes steadily. Strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee and chocolate. Light-bodied with a roasty coffee and malt flavor with some chocolate in the background. The finish is sweet with a caramel mocha aftertaste. Above average overall.

If you like coffee, you’re going to like this one. Pours a nice brown color with off-white head. Coffee, coffee, and some roasted malts on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with a nice coffee note.

[Bottle] Deep, dark brown pour with a dense beige colored head. Abundant roasted coffee aroma with lighter hints of vanilla. Dark roast coffee, dark chocolate and light wood ash in the taste. Nice roasty and mildly acrid finish. Average palate. Pretty good! Tasting notes from 2012.

Real ale has become one of my favorite brewers. This one was very strong, and had a strong coffee flavor with chocolate caramel. I love my porters so I can’t really say anything bad about it lol.

Very nice and mild coffee note. Some Carmel notes on the finish. Very smooth could be a sessionable choice

A delicious and tasty porter courtesy my Secret Santa. Thanks! Aroma was big and coffee. Strong coffee bean with not much else. Blindfolded I would’ve guess I was smelling cold coffee. Pour was a nice deep dark brown with a thing off white film for a head. Taste was just as the name suggests. Bold coffee flavors mixed with a roasted malt backbone. Nice carbonation and very full flavored for a beer under 6%

The Ginger Man, Houston tap: Pours near black with a brownish head. Aroma is chocolate and plenty of coffee, though I was not too impressed by the particular type of coffee. The beer itself was a little sweet, with some light chocolate notes mixed all up in there. Additionally, the body was relatively light.

Dark brown colored pour. Big tan head that falls quickly and leaves a bit of lacing. A biting acrid aroma with some buried notes of chocolate and coffee way underneath. Sour carbonic bite. Some sugary molasses and a slight bit of chocolate. Tart finish mixed with a sugar syrup feel. Dry, yet overly sweet. Not that good, sadly.

Black bodied, small light Biscuity, oats, simple classic American hops but mostly a really typical Dutch trekdrop (licorice) aroma. Salty almost. Any way, smooth malty base, certainly full enough for the abv. Nice brew. (On tap at The Liberty Tavern Austin)

Appearance - black no head Aroma - slight coffee. Not as much as you would think being labeled a coffee beer Mouth - medium silky. Surprisingly silky. Taste - very plain. Not much there. Just straight up traditional porter. Overall - solid but not special.
