A little light for a porter and not what I’m used to for this . Not much body and taste kind of stale.

12 oz bottle compliments of Crajun, sampled with friends last weekend and rated by notes taken. Aroma of sweet malt, watered down coffee and yeast. Appearance seems a bit light for the style. Sweet malty taste seemed to lack the coffee punch that I hoped for. I get more of a mocha/ chocolate flavor. Dry finish. Not at all bad, just had higher expectations.

Roasted malt, coffee, and slight yeast aroma. Dark brown with hints of ruby red. Medium tan head that dissipates quickly. Lighter bodied than expected. Coffee and dry roastiness. Not bad.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 kevinator (360) - The Colony, Texas, USA - DEC 5, 2012
Nice variance on a porter. Coffee aroma is definitely present with the roasted malts. Also a hint of sweetness. Cool dark coffee color with medium and sustainable head. Creamy palate. Roasted flavors with lingering malt essence. Less sweet than suspected but coffee is there and lingers as well. Another good offering from Real Ale.
