A mature beer. What else do you want from me? Color? Clarity? Cindness? Its a good tasty imperial beer that you can drink a little bit of without getting sick.

On tap at BTBF. Had forgotten what this was listed just as Empire IPA. Oak aged took me back for a second, but otherwise I was very pleasantly surprised. Pours with a hazed golden hue with a solid white head. Aroma is barrel, oak, really spicy wood, vanillin, and pretty hoppy with some citrus zest and citrus peel. Flavors are of melon, citrus, oak, spicy wood, vanillin and some decent tannins mixing with hop bitterness. Lively bubbles, dry, tasty!

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 rougeau13 (1608) - Texas, USA - APR 21, 2012
Tap at Flying Saucer Sugar Land. Golden with a white head. Aroma of grapefruit, chardonnay, and tropical fruit. The taste is rather mild, as though it was over-mellowed in the barrels. It tastes like fruit and wine a bit, but there’s virtually no bitterness, and none of the flavors are very bold. Medium bodied with mild carbonation. Decent, and very drinkable, but not great, especially considering the price.

on tap at BTBF, clear golden pour with some fruity citrus aroma but mostly too boozy for me, lots of alcohol and too little hops

On tap at Houston Gingerman. Pours a clear gold with an amber hue and a white head that dissipates very slowly to the edges. Aroma has lots of light fruit and flower with a bit of backing sweet grain and hay. Flavor starts with light fruit and flowers but finishes with light pine and oak.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Dixonian (1478) - Dallas, Texas, USA - MAY 9, 2011
On tap - Lake Flying Saucer from the Real Ale rep, Scott. Thanks, man!
Clear orange color with a decent amount of white head. Smells great - vanilla, ripe mangos, and slightly vinous. The barrel aging is there in the nose and even more in the flavor. Slightly sweet with lots of grapefruit and oak flavors. This is one delicious barrel aged IPA!

(Draught) Pours a clear orange body with a moderate white head. Aroma of pineapple, wood, orange, pine, vanilla, and mango. Flavor of oak, pineapple, pine, toasted coconut, wood, and grapefruit with a bitter, bone dry finish.

Tap at Petrol Station Houston. Lost Gold barrel aged in some type of wine barrels (bartender thought Chardonnay). Hazy gold. Very dry, hops have almost disappeared, tangy, with some remnants of the barrel. Interesting and unique-the IPA is gone from this one.

On tap at the RealTail fiesta. Poured a clear, light honey body with a ring of sticky ivory head. Aromas of dill, herbal hops and light malty sweetness. Flavors of medicinal hops, a sort of unbalanced sweetness and a floral, medium bitter finish. Active carbonation with a medium/full mouthfeel.
