COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Real Ale ESB pours a deep copper color and has an enticing aroma of fruit and caramel, with a subtle earthiness. A medium-bodied ale, our ESB showcases the fruitiness of our house yeast, along with the rich toffee flavors of English crystal malt. Added complexity is provided by a generous amount of English hops. Real Ale ESB finishes slightly dry with a mild spiciness that beckons another pint.

2/24/12. On tap at the brewery during RBWG 2012. Clear copper pour with a small khaki head that sticks. Nice malty aroma that reminds me of a fresh mash going. Bready, malty flavor with some cracker, sweet caramel, chocolate, graininess, and more. Nice!

On tap at Alamo Drafthouse. Copper-amber with a fluffy off-white head. Aroma is typical English bitter, but with some extra hops and spice. Taste is pretty much the same. Medium bodied. Pretty good modification of a traditional bitter.

Tap at Flying Saucer, Houston.
Pours a crystal amber with a nice white head. Nose is classic bitter leafy malt and baked hops. Flavor is freshly dead autumn leaves, old bread, and bitter malt. Average mouthfeel. Great effort. Captures the essence of a British ESB.

Tap at Gman FW. Courtesy cwsamples brother in law. Pours a clear copper orange color with a frothy white head. Aroma is orange peel and pepper with sweet malts and grains. Sweet smell. Flavor is fairly grainy with some slightly sweet notes but finishes super dry. Not bad but a rough finish.

Braudog (5647) - Hampton, Virginia, USA - DEC 27, 2010
Draft at Dallas Flying Saucer. Dark amber with a nice substantial head. The slightly watery mouthfeel is therefore a surprise. Decent enough woodsy edge and British character, but the lack of body detracts. (#4037, 12/14/2010)

Wonderfully like a true English ESB if only, just slightly over hopped, but it is a real nit pick. Very nice rendition.
