A - Pours a semi-hazy copper amber with a 1/2 inch white head that clings to the sides of the glass. S - Fruity esters, melon, citrus, some bready malt, rye grain comes out more as it warms. T - Fruity cereal based malt, some soft orange citrus, rye comes through along with a good dose of biscuit, grain and hops. Turns spicy and almost herbal towards the end finishing quite dry. M - Medium bodied, soft carbonation, creamy lush feel. The malt and rye are showcased nicely, while the hops round of the flavors and help with the finish. This beer delivers what you’d expect from the label. Well done. Serving type: bottle 06-17-2011

Not a bad ale. Would prefer to see a stronger showing in the rye malt used. Ok session beer. Hops are decent on the palate but lack the necessary aroma.

Slightly hazy orange pour, off white head (scant). Grain and citrus hops in the nose. Bitter. oily mouth feel, spicy rye, and Northwest hops in the middle. medium bodied and bitter out the back. This was the first rye beer I ever had, maybe a decade ago, and it still is a benchmark for the style.

Cloudy and golden in color. Decent head. Smells malty and slightly bready. Pronounced citrus also. Smooth flavor with slight bitterness. Very citrusy flavor. Slightly dry finish.

Bottle to glass. Pale gold with medium head. Spicy floral notes overcome the rye on my palate. And I am not picking up the hoppiness others noted . . . maybe my taste buds are overcome by the atmosphere (or lack of) in this pricey, hotel lobby bar.

Bottle. Honey, rye, and barley malt aroma. Golden yellow with moderate head. Honey orange, rye malt, and moderately bitter herbal/orange peel flavor. Nice body. Love the rye - excellent.

A nice orange color, a bit hazy, with a 1.5 finger head that lasted a long time, very good lacing. Smelled herbal, with very nice rye aromas, a bit of hoppiness, and some grainy and fruity overtones. Quite nice smelling. Tastes rather delicious. Rye graininess is nicely complemented with light fruits, rich, sweet caramel malts, and a light spiciness. Medium to almost full in body. Very rich and creamy, yet still light enough to be almost chuggable. Very lightly bitter aftertaste, which lingers with lightly sweet rye grain flavors. Really drinkable. A class act of a beer.
