Draught. Pours dark amber with a large white head. Aroma is malty, with the rye noticeable, and substantial floral hops. Flavor is about equal measure vegetal hops, barley malt, and rye malt. A pretty straightforward rye APA, but well made.

Sep 1, 2008 2008 Bottle. Aroma of cinnamon, clove, and hops. Appears light amber with a light white head. Tastes strongly of hops with a unique malt aftertaste, theoretically from the rye. Well balanced palate. Very unique hoppy brew, definitely worth a shot.

Aug 13, 2008 Cloudy amber toned color. Smells malty and vaguely of citrus. Tastes of rye, followed by malt and hints of hops. Good.

Aug 9, 2008 12oz in bordeaux glass. Deep copper with loose yeast. Tangy citrus and mild toast nose. Clean, sharp, dry. Big, balanced hops. Rye twang is neatly astringent. Hop Rod Lite in the very best sense. I want more -- five gallons more!

Aug 7, 2008 Thanks to Ben for this one. One of my favorite Texas beers. It’s been far too long. Cloudy amber body, white head. Aroma of sweet brown sugar and rye. Flavor is bitter and grainy, with a nice dry finish.
