Pilsner is one of the world’s most popular beers and there are many interpretations of this style. The great pilsner beers of Germany, specifically Northern Germany, are the inspiration for our second lager - Hans’ Pils. These beers are known for being hoppier than the average pilsner and ours is no exception. In fact, at 52 IBU’s, it is hoppier than many pale ales. The featured hop in this beer is the spicy and herbal Tettnang Tettnanger hop. German pilsner malt yields a pale golden color and provides the perfect support for our blend of German hops. Our house German yeast strain ferments clean and dry which further adds to the authenticity of Hans’ Pils.

Pours almost clear gold. White head laces well. Very hop forward pils. Crisp clean and no malt flavor. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I didn’t like this as much as most.. great aroma - malty grass and light citrus - even a creamy aroma somehow. piss pale color. Flavor is hops hops and bitter hops - too many and too much for my liking un balanced.

UPDATED: SEP 16, 2013 Hazy yellow gold in color with an average white head. Aroma is of floral hops, light mint, and lemon. Taste is of grass, heavy lemon, malt, floral. When this stuff is fresh, it is quite good.

Bottle. Pours a hazy, luminescent gold with a high, even head. Nose is apple, citrus, whole-grain bread. Hops punch on the front, then a honeyed sweetness followed by a touch more hops on the close. Incredibly well-balanced. I could drink a lot of this beer.

At Ginger Man on bartenders recommendation. Poured a clear yellow, not too much head, but good lacing. Taste was crisp and refreshing. Occasionally a bit too hoppy, but generally quite good. Some complexity for a pils.

Bottle from Walter. Light pour with a big white head. Aroma is very grainy and spicy. Taste is grainy, still kinda spicy, and a little astringent. Great finish, actually.

Hazy gold pour, lots of carbonation. Aroma of citrus, grain, spice. Medium bitterness.Flavor is grassy, slightly mineral or metallic (but not unpleasant). Mild bitter finish. Very pleasant, drinkable. Nice on a hot day.

Bottle. Pours a golden color with a rocky white head. Notes of grass, ammonia, flowers, and oranges. Easy drinking decent hop bite and lengthly finish. Not bad.

Pours clear pale gold with a small white head. Aroma of grass, sourdough bread, corn, flour, slight pepper. Not the explosion of hops I hoped for. Taste follows a similar path tasting lightly of grass, breadcrust and pepper, followed by a strong bitterness. Finishes bitter with slight grass, pepper and leafiness. Light bodied and drinkable. I was honestly hoping for more flavorful hops and less bitterness. There isn’t enough malt present to justify the bitterness IMO. Good attempt, but could be a lot better.

Draught. Nose is all pils malt, straw and hay. Clear and pale, a touch paler than to style. Thin head with nice lacing. Spicy hop character and fresh maltiness. Clean, dry, and spicy. Quick across the palate with a lingering dryness.
