Pilsner is one of the worldís most popular beers and there are many interpretations of this style. The great pilsner beers of Germany, specifically Northern Germany, are the inspiration for our second lager - Hansí Pils. These beers are known for being hoppier than the average pilsner and ours is no exception. In fact, at 52 IBUís, it is hoppier than many pale ales. The featured hop in this beer is the spicy and herbal Tettnang Tettnanger hop. German pilsner malt yields a pale golden color and provides the perfect support for our blend of German hops. Our house German yeast strain ferments clean and dry which further adds to the authenticity of Hansí Pils.

Golden pour under a fluffy generous white head. Standard yeasty biscuit and cracker aroma with a bit of Saaz. Smooth crisp and full flavor with potent grassy and peppery Saaz with a lovely undertone of sweet golden cracker and yeasty toast. Really well made and full bodied pils.

> Sourdough and honeydew super bright Pils perfection

[ Keg ][ 16oz ][ Draught House Austin TX ][ $5 ][ Nonic Pint ][ 9.3.14 ]
>> Celebrating my 8,400th beer review on ratebeer. This was the best beer (well, so far) of my Interstate 10 mega road trip. Excellent low haze honey straw pour with thick white foam. Nose is beautiful honeydew, fresh honey biscuit and dark butter. Good webby lacing. Nose adds fresh real orange, honeydew, cantaloupe. Juicy, super clean taste with awesomely rich buttermilk biscuit and browned butter. Powerful balancing grassy hops. Long grassy bitterness with sourdough and a mildly lactic palate, encompassing mouthfeel. So good. Better and better as it goes down.

Fresh can I picked up in Austin a couple weeks back. Canít believe Iím giving a TX pilsener a 4, but loved this. Clear yellow, with thin persistent head. Amazing lemon and grass nose. Light biscuit, awesome delicate but very present hops, super clean finish.
