3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: AUG 2, 2012 Bright, hazy, and orange with a moderate white head. Aroma of citrus, melon, flowers, pine and biscuity malt. Taste is malty backbone with a generous fruitiness. Bitterness is minimal. Medium bodied and refreshing. Excellent beer for summer. Or if it is real ales autumn seasonal, that fits too, since autumn in Houston is still summer...

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Hazy golden pour from bottle with a small white head. Aroma is summer flowers and malt. Taste is light citrus, floral and very clean. Minor bitterness but well balanced and not overpowering. Congratulations to Real Ale, this one is a winner.

Deep golden pour with a good amount of white head. Nice pine and citrus hop aromas - smells the way I want an IPA to smell. Moderate amount of bitterness that is kept at bay with a nice malt backbone. One of the best TX brewed IPAs Iíve had.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a very bright dark golden color along with a nice soapy head. Easily detectable aroma of toasty malt and some piney hops. Flavor is a bit weak on the hops quotient. For an IPA itís rather balanced flavor and aroma-wise with the malt and hops. I would guess that this is more of a Pale Ale than an IPA. Overall, its decent drinking and enjoyable.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours a rich orange with a white, fine-grained head that lasts. Nose is piney with a touch of floral and citrus notes. Crisp and bright on the palate, with a definite overtone of tangerine and a tight, delicious finish. Clean beer. Very good. (Incidentally, I think this is the first review of the bottled Lost Gold; it was just released last week.)

This one was out of a cask and it had an unbelievable head that stuck to the side all the way down the glass. Served at just the right temperature, with a great bitter hops aroma.

This beer pours a cloudy dull yellow with a medium white head. The aromas are grass, citrus, and some bread. The mouthfeel is dry and bitter with. Lively carbonation. Not a bad need. Cheers!

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tap at Freetail. A hazy golden orange beer with a small fading head. The aroma is very nice and hoppy with a lot of piney grass, plenty of citrus and some fruitiness in there. The taste is piney, citrus, and really is everything I want out of an IPA. I do want to know one thing, Why the hell does Real Ale not bottle this? This is the best IPA I have had that is made in TX. Surely enough people have expressed there desire to have this in bottles. They bottle this, then it would be my go to beer.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sampled on tap at the Freetail-Real Ale barrel-aged festival in San Antonio.
The beer pours a golden color with a white head. The aroma is a great mix of hops. I get citrus and pine. This definitely smells like an American IPA. The flavor is pine with a lot of juicy oranges notes. There is also some caramel malt to stop the beer from being too bitter. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.
