ansermadide (236), Kyle, Texas, USA Jun 28, 2008 (On tap at Draught House on June 28, 2008) Little/no head. Lightly carbonated. Semi-syrupy look. Amber/orange color. Very hoppy aroma, that’s it really. Taste is very pretty hoppy, not too west-coastish but very stisfying all the same. Thing with IPAs is you can only (usually) taste/smell hops... so, not much to report - nothing extraordinary. Palate is slick and easy. No aftertaste. Light body with a medium-thick hoppy malt on the back of the tongue. Pretty good for a Texas IPA
beergod! (44), Houston, Texas, USA Sep 5, 2008 This IPA pours a nice deep golden color with a nice head and lacing. Nose is of a dry herbal hop. Taste is slight citrus, herbal with a nice malt backbone. Nice!!! mar (598), Dallas, Texas, USA Sep 1, 2008 medium gold pour with a thin cream head. awesome citrus hops on the nose. fresh hop flavor with a nice hop taste in the finish that is not bitter by far. hop_lover (149), Corpus Christi, Texas, USA Aug 17, 2008 Updated: Aug 18, 2008I was extremely impressed with this one. My first impression was that it almost smells and feels like a lager. Must have fermented in low temperatures. This was definentely one of the lower IBU IPAs I actually like. This great beers pours a hazy golden color with a relatively small white head. Not one of the hops overpower each other. Very well balanced and quite mild for the kind of hops used. The aroma is a little fruity and floral and the flavor tastes like it smells. Nice light hop flavor lingers for a while. Quite a refreshing and extremely smooth IPA. The best from Real Ale by far. Thanks Real Ale.
The Lord bless the hop harvest! RaginCajun (261), Dallas, Texas, USA Aug 14, 2008 Typical IPA aroma w/ lots of floral hops. Good malt profile before hops kick in. Almost too sweet, but good enough. Most IPAs are too concentrated on the hops side; this one gets bonus points for having a good malt profile in addition to a solid hop character. mmm///beer (578), Austin, Texas, USA Aug 14, 2008 (Draft at Alamo Drafthouse-Lake Creek) Served in shaker- very nice one finger white head with HEAVY lacing with each sip, turbid tan/copper in appearance. Aroma of hops, citrus, and a note of grapefruit. Hits the mouth with a high-medium body, malt is extremely pleasant and enjoyable, hops come in the middle with notes of sweetness in the background as they took me away to a magical place- very well balanced overall and hard not to have the whole drink in less than 5 minutes. The big question- is this better than... Two Hearted? My opinion- you’d better keep one eye open late at night Larry and pray Real Ale doesn’t make this on a regular basis!!!
