Liquid black. Thin appearance in the body. Thin ring head. Oat and chocolate aroma with a thick syrupy character. Flavor is the same. Delicious in an alcoholic dessert sort of way.

Tap at Petrol Station. Black. Huge whiskey nose. Great flavors of sweetness, burnt malts and enough whiskey to taste but not quite overpower the stout. Nice beer.

Much better than the regular XV, IMO. Replaces all the extreme bitterness with delicious bourbon and oak notes.

On tap at the Common Table’s anniversary party.
The beer pours deep black color with a few small brown bubbles, but nothing you would really call a head. The aroma is very boozy with some raisins and roasted malt thrown in. The flavor is more of the same. There is a ton of oak and bourbon notes, with a lot of roasted malt, chocolate and coffee. All of the notes from the original stout meld very well with the bourbon-barrel character. Thick mouthfeel and low carbonation. Very nice.

On tap at Petrol Station. Pours a very dark brown with medium creamy tan head leaving sticky lacing. The aroma is roast and chocolate. Thin mouthfeel with a rich vanilla malt and smooth finish. Hides alcohol well maling it easy to drink. Really enjoyed this one. An impressive BA XV.

On tap @ The Common Table and growler from Whole Foods.
Pitch black pour. The one at TCT had absolutely no head while the growler had plenty of thick tan head. Nose is big time bourbon and oak with vanilla and some chocolate. Wow! Flavor has tons of bourbon and wood with some roast and graham cracker pie crust. Greatness.
