This beer has a very light, airy/bubbly white head, a semi-cloudy, lightly-carbonated orange/amber color. The aroma is of light caramel malts, lightly roasted, sweet, and soft on the nose. As soon as it hits your mouth, you feel sweet roasted malt on the lips and tongue. It’s sweet and tangy in the throat, full, but smooth - and yet light - in the mouth. The flavor is really nice for an Oktoberfest. Very sessionable, as expected for the style, with a little more of that roasted, almost toasted malt/caramel sweetness on the tongue. A really good Oktoberfest!

UPDATED: OCT 25, 2012 Surprisingly good effort here! Slightly nutty and sweet melanoiden on the nose with crisp, lagery undertones. Not completely clean on the finish, but it does finish somewhat dry. Real Ale is doing it right with some of these limited/seasonal release beers.

Nose is a deep caramel malt. Thicker mouthfeel with a wonderfully approachable structure and finish. Pretty straightforward on the palate. Malts and a clean hint of bitter on finish. Made for drinking. Not for examining.

Bottle:   Deeper caramel in color, modeate frothy off-white head, decent lacing.   Malty aroma, slight
cereal and mealiness.   Has a bit of graininess to it too.   Malty tongue, slight sweet, a little mealy but
not bad.   Not grainy on the tongue, thankfully.   Pretty straight forward and clean.   Body and mouthfeel
are moderate to full.   Feels pretty smooth.   Rich maltiness on the backside, even a little sticky.
Kinda finishes rather bland.   Most of the stuff is up front.   Soft maltiness lingers.   While its clean,
it needs a little more umph.   Thanks Bill for the bottle!

GABF 2011. Clear deep copper, light white head. Big aroma of toasty biscuit, mild noble hop bitterness, and dank earthy dry malt. Flavor was nice and big and dry. Lots of earthy Munich malt, toast, and biscuit. Lovely!

12oz bottle in Ft Worth. Across the board, this is a classic fest beer. Clean and refreshing with just a hint of autumn with the caramel. Just a really well done lager.

Pours a deep copper color with a slight off white head that collars around the glass. The aroma is biscuity, malty, and slightly buttery with a dash of skunkiness. Slightly sweet malty taste with touches of bread and that classic german lager taste. Slight hops taste in the back end that isn’t too bitter but a nice compliment to the maltiness. Medium mouthfeel. Fairly drinkable.
