Commercial Description:
Deep golden and malty, with a spicy hop flavor and a subtle, well-balanced hop bitterness, Rio Blanco is a uniquely Texan interpretation of an English-style pale ale. The addition of Czech hops gives the ale a refreshing crispness and flavor that will satisfy you under the hottest Texas sun.

Bottle. Pours foggy honey brown. Aroma is a little malty, but weak. Flavors are very yeasty, some white bread, and Saaz hops. What really makes the beer is mouthfeel - very low carbonation, almost casklike from a bottle. Weak flavors though.

12 oz. bottle courtesy of Bockyhorsey - Pours a hazy amber color with a 3/4 finger thick off white head. Nice lacing. Aroma is light floral and herbal hops. Flavor is light toasted malt and some lightly spiced hops. Medium body. No major flaws or unpleasant aftertastes. Worth a try. Thanks Bill.

Smells grassy, with a hint of hops. Pours a slight orange/copper color with a small white head, fades fast. Tastes of hops and slight alcohol bitterness that is not unpleasant. Crisp and refreshing.

On tap at Flying Saucer - Houston on 07/27/08. Clear golden amber body with a small frothy off-white head. Caramel and pale malt aroma with light floral hints. More floral and citrus hop flavor. Some pale and caramel malt. Medium body with moderate carbonation.

Copper colored with an off white head. Taste is light, hops, malts, sort of watery. Smell is hops, malts. Ok balance. Not bad. Some bitterness. Need something more.

I might be a little biased about this, but it’s an excellent beer. Pours hazy amber as everybody else has stated. Slight bitterness and a nice smooth finish to it.
