Witbier is a traditional Belgian style, delicate by nature and subtle by design. Our newest seasonal offering is neither of those things. With a nod towards tradition and a substantial dryhop we’ve created Real Ale White. True to its roots, White is brewed with unmalted wheat, orange peel and coriander, and fermented with our house Belgian yeast strain. But with a dryhop level that matches our IPA, the aroma of this White more closely resembles that of its American peers than its Belgian ancestors. Low in alcohol and heavy in hop aroma, the once delicate Witbier has become the commanding Session White IPA.

Looks good. Smells funky. Dry palate and way too hoppy. Not my idea of a witte. Piere Celis would not approve.

Pour: hazy, golden yellow w/ big, fluffy white head that lasts. Nice lacing. Smell: wheat, bubblegum, floral hops, light alcohol. Taste: creamy wheat, floral & citrus hops, bubblegum, yeast, coriander & light alcohol. Nicely carbonated. Dry, sweet finish. A nicely dry-hopped belgian wheat! :)

Refrigerated 12 oz. aluminum can, best by September 1, 2014, from blutt59, poured into a weizen glass. Cloudy pale golden, some chunks of suspended yeast, with medium fluffy dull white head. Aroma is nice spritzy herbal/icitrus hops, medium body, medium carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is citrus hops, orange, some herbal hops, and nice tart lemon finish. I would say slightly more white beer than session IPA, all the flavors meld well for me.

Well this is an odd duck for sure... poured a cloudy yellow color with aromas of wheat, light smoke, some hops and a touch of citrus. Flavors are wheat up front, light ash and some stale hops. Interesting beer didn’t know it was a session ipa until I got on this site to rate.

Can. Light yellow pour. Lots of sediment in the pour. Aroma is hoppy, spicy, sweat and evergreen needles. Flavor is spicy, hoppy, armpit and earth. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A hazy yellow pour with a frothy white head. Low to moderate head retention. An awesome floral hop aroma. The taste is a sour lemon with a yeasty pallet. Added a slice of orange to tame the sourness. A mild bite finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can. Well, THAT’s an interesting color; cloudy hazy yellow with a slight green tint and definite sediment. The head is white, solid, and extremely lacy. Nose is very hoppy for a Belgian white -- rosemary, pine, and orange. Substantial on the tongue, with orange, coriander, and herbal (sage, rosemary, and marjoram) notes. Lots of body. Finish is long, citric, and sweet. Nice.

Hazy yellow with a good sized white head and light lacing. Aroma of grapefruit, peach, plum, and herbs. Tastes of spice and fruit. Medium body; average carbonation. Very well done.

7/12/2014. From can. Cloudy light amber with a white head. Spicy, floral aromas with peppery flavors. Not bad at all.

Very unique white. The orange peel and coriander is there but the dry hopping adds a unique aroma and flavor. 4.6 abv make this one sessionable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
