1.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 omhper (15600) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - FEB 24, 2006
UPDATED: MAR 29, 2006 Bottled. Pale yellow. Papery aroma. Plenty of corn, no tracable hops, clean mouthfeel, no bitterness. In other words - a pretty dysmal industrial lager.
2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Oakes (10009) - Gibsons, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 13, 2006
Straw colour with a whispy head. Slightly grainy aroma, maybe some light hop. Grainy, sour taste...not entirely horrid but has little to offer besides a late bready pale malt note.
2.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Bov (7098) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - JAN 3, 2004
transparent golden colour, the initial foam quickly disappears, some aromatic hops give it a buttery nose, the body is light and crip with a short dry finish - very forgettable
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Tmoney99 (6894) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUN 7, 2006
Bottle. Poured clear pale color with a minimal frothy white that diminished quickly with virtually no lacing. Moderate grass hop aroma. Light to medium body with a watery texture and soft carbonation. Light sweet flavor with a sweet finish of short duration. More drinkable than my expectation.
1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 leaparsons (6082) - Leicester, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - JUN 24, 2005
Bottle. Golden with a small head. Aromas are grain, sweetcorn and butter with some metallic hops. Flavours are sweet grain with smooth butter and sweetcorn. Mine is beginning to warm up now and its not so good.
1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20 DocLock (5776) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 6, 2005
Bottle from Peace St. Market, Raleigh. A Red Stripe clone of sorts, which is what it is. In Jamaica or 90 degree weather, I’d have no problem drinking this. Is it a great beer otherwise.....No.
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 Cornfield (5240) - Oak Forest, Illinois, USA - JUN 14, 2005
Clear yellow with a short-lived white head, it’s grainy and corny and nasty sweet to the nose. The flavor is minus the corn, but is sweet and grainy with a dash of hops. Drinkable, but not desireable.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 HogTownHarry (4809) - Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, CANADA - SEP 8, 2010
355ml bottle - pretty sure biegaman gave me this one quite some time ago. Okay, it’s a bit old - but honestly would it likely matter? Slightly hazy gold with a fizzy diminishing white head (3-). Smells - meh; clover, sugar, weedy grass - not great, not ugly. Taste - jaysus, that’s not bad - too sweet, but I still get some crispness, honey and clover - just a bit of paper, not much alcohol at all - I just checked the bottle - best before 21 months ago! Well, it was in my fridge - but this is seriously not bad for a pale lager. Light body, almost stingingly carbonated, quick-finishing, and only slightly harsh in the finish; just a hint of pvc, but better than most - would like to try this fresh on tap.
