1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 ROGUE (1566) - Newark, Delaware, USA - DEC 23, 2009
On tap in Jamaica. Pours a light golden color with a white foamy head. Smells of light grain and sweet corn. The flavor has a faint sweetness along with cereal grains and a slightly metalic finish. Nothing great, but it does the job when baking under the island sun.
1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20 dm9831 (1515) - Monee, Illinois, USA - FEB 27, 2005
slight, grainy aroma. nice head and cloudy, golden color. the taste and bite is similar to a budweiser, and as such, no great shakes. slight bitter aftertaste. nice fizzy palate. i generally like this beer, but am not overly-enthusiastic. i can, and have, drunk more than one at a sitting....
1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 igneous1 (1467) - Davenport, Iowa, USA - DEC 13, 2006
had several bottles in the mini bar in our room. The predominant flavor to me was the cardboardiness...wet paper was abundant. Other than that, not memorable, light-bodied.
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 barleyPops (1137) - Quad-Cities, Illinois, USA - MAY 6, 2006
not much going on here. little in the way of hops, malt or yeast. a very pale straw color with a short lived head and almost no lace. after finishing this one, it just leaves me wanting more beer, but not this one!
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 kimcgolf (872) - Dacula, Georgia, USA - JUL 14, 2006
Poured an orange-tinted gold, with medium head that lingered and gave way to good lacing. Aroma was slightly hopped, with some fruit, but hard to distinguish waht. Flavor was mild and uneventful, almost like a BMC macro. Finish somewhat flat and sour. Not much to this beer.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 raymow (763) - Bensalem, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 9, 2003
I just had a couple of bottles of this in Jamaica and found it fairly similar to Red Stripe. It was very refreshing in the heat and I'd definitelt drink it again. However, if given the choice between this and Red Stripe, I'd probably go with the Red Stripe. Of course, if you can guarantee to send me to Jamaica - I'd gladly drink either one.
2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Wiseblood (700) - Clarksville, Tennessee, USA - JUL 12, 2004
Dark gold with aromas of corn and hops. Looked promsing, but turned out to be nothing more than another characterless lager. Good and easy to drink in the heat. Fairly light and crisp with no aftertaste.
1.8 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Yankovitch333 (612) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - JUN 11, 2006
Another boring lager from a hot third world country. It wasn’t bad it was just boring. It’s probably good in the Jamaican heat.
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 AlchemistZ (493) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - DEC 8, 2005
Gold in color with a thin, white head. Aroma is almost nonexistent except for some sweet corn and sulphur. Flavor is light, just some sweetness and a clovey spiciness and carbonic bite.
3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 gururyan (476) - Stillwater, Oklahoma, USA - SEP 10, 2010
UPDATED: OCT 26, 2012 When in Jamaica, I find Real Rock a much better pick over the overdone Red Stripe. When in Rome...
