gunhaver (660), Tampa, Florida, USA Sep 10, 2008 Bottle. Pours a dark brown color, almost black, creamy fluffy tan head, bubble, lacing is minimal. Creamy caramel nose, peanut butter, chocolate, some roast and a big nuttiness. Flavors of dry roasted coffee, some sweet cocoa, some vanilla. Very sweet, almost sour. But it’s just not that good overall. Dry, thin-bodied, and tons of odd off-flavors. SuperDave70 (822), Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA Aug 18, 2008 Black pour with a creamy tan head that stuck around for a while. Aroma is deep roasted malt and coffee, cocoa, and touch of sweet dark fruit. Flavor is much the same, with a bit of a bitter bite on the dry finish. Medium mouthfeel, a bit light for a stout, but otherwise not a bad brew, especially for the price. yespr (6889), Copenhagen O, Denmark Aug 6, 2008 From tap at Pizza Port, San Clemente. Pours black with a creamy and light tan head. Mild butterish and slight spiced aroma with an underlying roasted malt presence. Light butterish and hardroasted malt flavour. Quite simple and solid brew. Mild acidic note into the finish from the roasted malt. BOLTZ7555 (515), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Aug 3, 2008 Nice latte head atop a thin mahogany brew. Aroma is that of roasted malt, coffee, and bittersweet chocolate. Is there a category for sour stout??? This one is oddly mouth puckering and tart. Flavor is way off...not reminiscent of the style at all. Yuck. Sparky27 (583), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Jul 30, 2008 Bomber. Pours a pitch black with minimal, very carbonated tan head. Nose is cocoa, molasses and mild coffee. Taste is roasted malt, coffee grounds and ashy cocoa with a mildly bitter finish. Very light mouth feel for a stout. Meh, nothing to write home about.
