RiverHorse (454), New Jersey, USA Apr 7, 2007 Updated: Apr 8, 2007This beer pours a murky amber color with a fat, frothy, sticky head. The lacing was perfect. The smell hits you as you pop the top. Big hoppy goodness with orange, grapefruit and maybe a soapy kind of smell. The first sip jumps right to back of your tongue and messes it all up. Very bitter, but very, very nice. The mouthfell is rocking and the palate is rolling. After a tough day, this is just what the doctor ordered. riversideAK (2648), Shoreline, Washington, USA Apr 1, 2007 Beer has intense grapefruit and pine aroma. Color is reddish amber. Flavor is more of that intense hoppiness, but there is some sweetness at the end making this a very nice IIPA. I really like the intense hops, but it is still nice and malty. I like it! MrBendo (1039), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA Mar 22, 2007 Updated: Oct 25, 2007Bomber, nearing the end of its time. Clear orange color with a large head. Fair lacing. Aroma of grapefruit and oily resin as well as caramel. Good caramel backbone. It’s getting to the point where all my IIPA descriptions sound the same. There’s nothing spectacular about this, but it’s better than average. MilkmanDan (1940), Eagan, Minnesota, USA Feb 10, 2007 Deep amber-gold, nice puffy head. Nose HUGELY hoppy, traditional West Coast IIPA-esque blast of citrus and bitterness. First impression is a spectacular mouthfeel, incredibly rich and creamy, explodes around the mouth with luscious hoppy grapefruit. Bitterness is wonderfully balanced with chewy, sweet malts, some peppery spiciness there as well. Great balance. Insanely drinkable. Yum. padrefan98 (787), (San Diego) Santee, California, USA Feb 9, 2007 I instantly smelled the hops once I opened the bottle. I tasted pine and grapefruit. Good lacing left on the glass. boboski (1095), Alabama, USA Feb 7, 2007 Updated: Jul 9, 2007Nice clear amber pour with orange hues and a strange near-neon green tinge to it. Adequate lacing left behind by a creamy light beige head, decent retention. Pine and grapefruit aroma, very lively. That’s pretty much it. Fresh, basic. Smells a little spicy and peppery. Flavor: now I see why this has good ratings. Extremely well balanced and drinkable. Soft citric hops, sufficient malt. Nice drying and agreeable finish. Full mouthfeel, very balanced palate. Pretty tasty DIPA. SoLan (1369), Orlando, Florida, USA Jan 28, 2007 Amber. 1cm of creamy, light an head. Nose of resinous cannibus, light sweetness, pine trees, green plant leaves, subtle tangerines. Same flavors wih some sweet malt. A touch of soap as it warms. Very nice on the palate- medium/full body, smooth with enough carbonation to balance. Almost sessionable, solid. nimbleprop (819), SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA Jan 27, 2007 Poured a copper with orange hues with a very foamy and lasting white head. Laced beautifully down the sides with the speckled remnants of hops. The aroma was lemony with hints of ginger. Flavor was the same, bitter and hoppy, but citrus and again hints of ginger. Finish was smoother than other IIPAs.
