Commercial Description:
Don't be fooled by the label depicting a Grim Reaper Santa Claus in a sleigh pulled by skeletal reindeer - this is not a Christmas Ale. "Sleighor" is an Imperial India Pale Ale. The intense hop bitterness, flavor and aroma will dominate at first. To complement, the body has a complex blend of malt and alcohol flavors. The ABV is 9.1%, and the IBU's are pushing the mid 80s. The entire family of Cascade hops is used. Cascade, Centennial and Columbus are spread throughout the boil, and a huge sack of Amarillo for dry hopping. The hop combination gives this brew a distinct profile true to its IPA roots. The presentation is clear copper with a thick tan head, coupled with billowing citrus and floral hop aroma. "Do You Dare" to enjoy this fine ale from the Reaper? Brewed at Sudwerk for ReaperAle.

Sharp initial grapefruit slaps the schnaz, hop tartness and thats it,malt stuggles to get itself noticed, that malt however does come through in the taste, the taste is much more balanced, the grapefruit becomes citurs pine mixed with a creamy smooth caramel, the aftertaste is a nice fade of that toffee caramel malt and a mixed hop bitter finish. I prefer the hop dominators, but as far as a balanced Imp IPA,this ranks right up there with the best

22 oz bottle. Deep red-orange beer, thin white head. The aroma is lovely, sweet pine, a bit of herbal character, some light fruity hops over a lean pale malt base. The flavour is lightly hoppy, pine and soft floral/flowery hops. Earthy lingering bitterness. A nice, lean DIPA.

Bottled. Puzzlingly (is that a word?) thin mouthfeel that transitions into a really, really jack hammering bitter finish. That sounds really good, I know - but this just doesn’t work very well here. This sucks the hydration right out of me.

Gift from MrBendo. Amber colored nice foamy tan head. Amazing pine aroma. Heavy hitting hop flavors of citrus and plenty of delicious malt creamy to make my mouth water for more. Finish is a heavy hard hop happiness!!! Loved it.

Aroma is malt. Just kidding, but there is some malt nose. It’s grapefruity hop and a bit of resin. Ripe stone fruit color, pretty translucent, likely unfiltered. Not much head, but it laces in thin little lines. Starts with hop, quickly becoming grapefruity, but there’s enough malt to make a strong impact. However, no doubt about the finish; bitter all the way. Maybe some malt sticks through the finish, but it’s questionable.

This beer pours a murky amber color with a fat, frothy, sticky head. The lacing was perfect. The smell hits you as you pop the top. Big hoppy goodness with orange, grapefruit and maybe a soapy kind of smell. The first sip jumps right to back of your tongue and messes it all up. Very bitter, but very, very nice. The mouthfell is rocking and the palate is rolling. After a tough day, this is just what the doctor ordered.

Beer has intense grapefruit and pine aroma. Color is reddish amber. Flavor is more of that intense hoppiness, but there is some sweetness at the end making this a very nice IIPA. I really like the intense hops, but it is still nice and malty. I like it!

Bomber, nearing the end of its time. Clear orange color with a large head. Fair lacing. Aroma of grapefruit and oily resin as well as caramel. Good caramel backbone. It’s getting to the point where all my IIPA descriptions sound the same. There’s nothing spectacular about this, but it’s better than average.
