Lots of hops in the nose and a nice combo of hops a malts in the flavor. Not as hop-centric as other SoCal double IPAs, but a pleasant middle ground found between hops and malt. Frighteningly smooth and drinkable for such a potent beer. timmy300 (199), bloomington, Illinois, USA

You’re getting the hops in the nose as well of course but there’s much more to it: spices like cinnamon and vanilla plus some sweetish dark fruits are what I can detect. Overall aroma is sweeter and more complex than expected. Flavor is fruity amd malty with a bitter finish. Medium to full bodied with a nice creamy texture. A nice surprise with an original character. Not your typical DIPA, that’s for sure. adrian910ss (1410), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 13, 2006 22 oz bomber. Pours a cloudy orange amber color with a thick white creamy head. Aroma is slightly piney, not as piney as a lot of west coast IPA’s, with plenty of hops present. Taste is citrusy with a slight pine aftertaste. A slight spicy burning feeling as it goes down. Hard to tell that this is a double IPA. Nevertheless, very good overall. Naven (869), Poway, California, USA

Very nice, bronze/amber color. Nice lacing, strong initial hop taste. Goes down very nice, with a lingering hop/alcohol taste. Very good IIPA chilehead (186), Laguna Niguel, California, USA

Superb head retention w/ thick fluffy lacing that lasts. Strong aromas of spicy citrus rind that clear my sinuses. A thick and slightly creamy style IIPA with bright, pungent citrus rind consistant to the last sip. This is where Robo Hop lives w/ a strict upper hand. Overall: a ballanced brew with alcohol well hidden. Enjoyable. Nice job. fordest (1954), Santee/San Diego, California, USA
