Commercial Description:
Don't be fooled by the label depicting a Grim Reaper Santa Claus in a sleigh pulled by skeletal reindeer - this is not a Christmas Ale. "Sleighor" is an Imperial India Pale Ale. The intense hop bitterness, flavor and aroma will dominate at first. To complement, the body has a complex blend of malt and alcohol flavors. The ABV is 9.1%, and the IBU's are pushing the mid 80s. The entire family of Cascade hops is used. Cascade, Centennial and Columbus are spread throughout the boil, and a huge sack of Amarillo for dry hopping. The hop combination gives this brew a distinct profile true to its IPA roots. The presentation is clear copper with a thick tan head, coupled with billowing citrus and floral hop aroma. "Do You Dare" to enjoy this fine ale from the Reaper? Brewed at Sudwerk for ReaperAle.

Pours copper with a thick frothy white head. Nose has cinnamon, cloves, honey, some vanilla. Mouth feel is medium bodied and taste is complex and interesting.

Pours a viscous, honey nectar with dense froth that is about medium height. Superb head retention w/ thick fluffy lacing that lasts. Strong aromas of spicy citrus rind that clear my sinuses. A thick and slightly creamy style IIPA with bright, pungent citrus rind consistant to the last sip. This is where Robo Hop lives w/ a strict upper hand. Overall: a ballanced brew with alcohol well hidden. Enjoyable. Nice job.

22 oz bottle. Copper pour with a beautiful off white head. Nice and foamy. Aromas are sweet, vanilla, citrus, pineapple. Flavors are juicy hops. Citrus, grapefruit. Some slight caramelliness in there. Very bitter on the finish. Pretty good

Another on from Valley’s mark down rack. Pour was cloudy orange-amber with off white head. Nice citrus hoppi nose, Good taste as well, the alcohol was present, not too well hidden. I dared!

Pour is a murky orange with an off white head....laces well. Aroma is all hops and resin. The taste has hints of fruit at the outset and a balanced hop bitterness on the finish. One of the best IIPA’s I’ve had.

Bottled. Cloudy amber, rich head. Stron aroma of grapefruit and lychee. Sweet and malty with full body and some syrup. Hop induced notes of marmelade and salty licorice, massively bitter finish. Ther sweetness is the one drawback.

Bottle @ OMH-tasting
Big flowery aroma with some malts. Big fullbodied taste. "Tutti frutti". Chewable. Orange peel. Long aftertaste.

Eary Dec ’05 tasting. Orangy pour. Grapefruit rind hop aroma, with some touches of orange. Sweet caramel malt backing with a lot of citrusy hops, again with that touch of orange. Lingering bitter finish. Good.
