Commercial Description:
Don’t be fooled by the label depicting a Grim Reaper Santa Claus in a sleigh pulled by skeletal reindeer - this is not a Christmas Ale. "Sleighor" is an Imperial India Pale Ale. The intense hop bitterness, flavor and aroma will dominate at first. To complement, the body has a complex blend of malt and alcohol flavors. The ABV is 9.1%, and the IBU’s are pushing the mid 80s. The entire family of Cascade hops is used. Cascade, Centennial and Columbus are spread throughout the boil, and a huge sack of Amarillo for dry hopping. The hop combination gives this brew a distinct profile true to its IPA roots. The presentation is clear copper with a thick tan head, coupled with billowing citrus and floral hop aroma. "Do You Dare" to enjoy this fine ale from the Reaper? Brewed at Sudwerk for ReaperAle.

Been wanting to try it cause of the cool bottle designs, who would have known the beer has character too. Intense floral/citrus hop aroma on the pour. Orange color with a small head. The taste is nive and hoppy with huge grapefruit and floral hop flavors. Maybe a bit too much on the finish, but overall this is a pretty solid beer

Pours a cloudy orange hue with a halo of a head. Malty aromas of honey and spice. Flavors of pine and citrus and well balanced hops to malts ratio. Flavor lingers. Great, but not the best.

Nice clear amber pour with orange hues and a strange near-neon green tinge to it. Adequate lacing left behind by a creamy light beige head, decent retention. Pine and grapefruit aroma, very lively. That’s pretty much it. Fresh, basic. Smells a little spicy and peppery. Flavor: now I see why this has good ratings. Extremely well balanced and drinkable. Soft citric hops, sufficient malt. Nice drying and agreeable finish. Full mouthfeel, very balanced palate. Pretty tasty DIPA.

Not bad really, but for a double IPA its weak. Thanks be to brooklynboy for the share. The hops in this thing were different to me. Not really like what I have seen before. Wonder what this is. Hmm, maybe it is the whole family of cascade hops. Interesting to say the least.

Pours deep ruby color with thick tan head. Aroma is rich with west coast hops and som malt. Take a sip and the bitterness really kicks in. Strong alcohol, strong bitterness, and enough malt to smooth them out. Nice.

bomber courtesy of Fordest, in a most recent trade, thanks Sean.
I’ve always been more of a stout guy, but I was definitely having a craving for some hops just prior to opening up this one. ( craving hops, is this the start of becoming a Hop-Head? )
orangey amber on the pour with a great looking foamy head. mmmm smell those piney and grapefruity hops! sweet caramel helped to balance out the hop profile but the backbone malts could have been a little more dominant. all in all it was mission accomplished, it satisfied my hop craving, good beer!

Pours a reddish brown with a small soapy white head. Aroma of grapefruit and hops. Flavor of pine, lots of hop bitterness, and not much sweetness to balance it out. Wow the hops are bitter in this one. If you love hop bitterness this beer is for you, but if you expect it to be balanced out by malty sweetness forget it.

Toast to Bill Daraghy who should have been with us for this one. Pours clear and amber with minimal head. Powerful aroma of hops and pine. One need only get to the nose to realize this a serious IPA. Taste matches the powerful aroma. Some citrus to balance the hops, but hops are HUGE with this beer.
