| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 2, 2004 The pour is a deep ruby color with a medium fading off beige head. Aroma is sweet and rich with hints of pineapple and citrus. Flavor starts burnt caramel sweet and fades into a rich sweetness that tames the tangy hop bitter finish. More barley wine like than IIPA (IMHO). 9% ABV very well hidden. MrBendo (1052), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA

Clear orange color with a large head. Fair lacing. Aroma of grapefruit and oily resin as well as caramel. Good caramel backbone. It’s getting to the point where all my IIPA descriptions sound the same. There’s nothing spectacular about this, but it’s better than average. bfeldmann (1042), Wilmington, Delaware, USA

Aroma of grapefruit, pine, and floral hops. Flavor was piney, and major grapefruit flavor. Good beer." ChillCoat (1029), Concord, California, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Nov 14, 2004 Bottled. Pours Dark amber with a lasting tan head. Over-the-top cascade hoppiness with a sweet malty balance. Bitter alcoholic finish. I would classify thhis more as an American Strong ale than a Double IPA. Good beer. trokini (1027), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 30, 2005 I had this the same night I tried the Moylan’s IPA. Thank God I had that one first. Bronze pour with a huge head. Full of hops in the aroma with a good mix of pine and grapefruit. Powerful hops in the taste, mixed with a sweet malt back. Hoppy kind of bitterseet finish. Nice. Contract brewed by Green Flash Brewing, for Reaper Ales, this beer is a classic example of "Double" or Imperial IPA. This beer is 80+ IBU’s, 9.1% abv, and is hopped with bale loads of Cascade, Centennial, and Columbus hops, then dry hopped with Amarillo. A no brainer for hop heads, Sleighor does not dissapoint. This beer pours to a brilliant, deep amber color, with a thick, creamy, white head, and a moderate carbonation. The nose on this beer is fantastic, with lots of big, pungent, zesty, piney/citrus hop aromas that flood the nose. The palate is rich and slick on the tongue, with lots of good caramel/sweet malt flavor, paired with lots of citrus/piney hop flavor. This beer finishes with more good malt and hop flavor up front, then ends with a very zesty, very bitter pine and citrus hop bite that linges with some peppery alcohol. Wow, remindes me a lot of young, fresh, Bigfoot. A very impressive hop cocktail of a brew, this is a great cocktail, and a wonderful beer to sip and savor. kidmartinek (1003), austin, Texas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 21, 2009 Very cloudy amber ale that pours with a generous 2 inch taupe head. Malty aroma with an English character. Superb lacing. Super smooth taste. Nice flavorful hop bouquet. This ale could be very problematic, as it is entirely t easy to drink. Full bodied character without being to heavy. Makes a nice meal replacement. Finishes so smooth you forgot it. jimbowood (983), Athens, Georgia, USA
