Commercial Description:
Don’t be fooled by the label depicting a Grim Reaper Santa Claus in a sleigh pulled by skeletal reindeer - this is not a Christmas Ale. "Sleighor" is an Imperial India Pale Ale. The intense hop bitterness, flavor and aroma will dominate at first. To complement, the body has a complex blend of malt and alcohol flavors. The ABV is 9.1%, and the IBU’s are pushing the mid 80s. The entire family of Cascade hops is used. Cascade, Centennial and Columbus are spread throughout the boil, and a huge sack of Amarillo for dry hopping. The hop combination gives this brew a distinct profile true to its IPA roots. The presentation is clear copper with a thick tan head, coupled with billowing citrus and floral hop aroma. "Do You Dare" to enjoy this fine ale from the Reaper? Brewed at Sudwerk for ReaperAle.

Bottle from Dark Elf. Pours brown with a tan head. Smells of grass, sugar, citrus and malt. Tastes sweet with a nice amount of hoppiness. Palate is on the watery side, but otherwise this is a great IIPA.

Pours a slightly hazy red/orange with a small white head. A little floral hop aroma, but not a hop bomb in the aroma. Definitely get some grapefruit citrus in there too. Alot of grapefruit in the taste, but not as in your face as much as you’d think from this style. Stil the hops make theri presence known, but their is a profound fruity flavor to it. Really well balanced and easy to drink for this 9% brew. Just a slight bitterness in the aftertaste, but nothing too bad. Solid brew.

July 2006 - Beer poured cider brown, smallish head, some lace. Aroma was pine. Flavor was really hoppy with caramel malt sweetness underneath. Some other bitterness there, not pine, with nondescript flavor. Nice thick mouthfeel. This is one of the more bitter DIPA’s I’ve had.

Bottle: Pours an opaque copper color with a tan head. Aroma, citrus, pine, caramel notes, some brown sugar. Flavor, caramel, a piny bitterness, big malty notes. Bottle was probably a bit past it’s prime, but still solid.

Beautiful pour. Mango skin aroma. Slightly boozy, piney hops with more not-quite-ripe mango flavor.

Picked up at Oceanside Bevmo. Pour is a very nice bronze with a decent, off white head. Aroma is mostly grassy hops and some malt. Flavor is pretty bitter up front. A little malt sneaks in near the finish. Pretty tasty. Nice, but lacks any subtlety...I know, it’s a IIPA. It just seems too one dimensional.

courtesy of fiulijn - dark blond-orange colour with a persistent beige foam; nice lace; solidly hoppy with notes of flowers and cream; moderate carbonation and with a solid malt body; slightly sticky; very robust bitterness, long and very bitter flowery finish - a one-dimensional hop bomb

Light copper pour with a decent head that sticks around through out. Piney citrus nose. Medium/light body with a smack you in the face hop presence. No attempt at balance here. Another over the top west coast hop monster.
