(Stockholm Beer Festival 2005) Amber with a brown, almost yellowish head. Toffee diacetyl aroma with some choclate. Thin malty flavor, sugary and with some bitterness in the finish.

Bottle. A little marcipan aroma. Very dark brown/chestnut colour. Small creamy head, light brown. Malty flavour, a little sweet and toasted. IMHO a little too sweet. Aftertaste slightly toasted.

Amber color. Medium head, goes off quickly. Aroma is mainly sweet, the same goes for the flavor that also is a little bit odd, somehow fatty and hint of something burnt.

UPDATED: MAY 1, 2008 Bottle, from Fřtex, Aabenraa. A great dark brown with a medium brownish creamy head. The head stays for a good while and leaves a good amount of lacing. Aroma has roasted caramel and maltyness. A touch watery mouthfeel. Flavour is great with chocolate, a little smoke and a good dose of sweet roasted malts. 7/4/7/2/14 = 3.4

Poours redish, deep brown with a fine, creamy beige head. Aroma is sweet, lightly roasted caramel. A bit too light in mouthfeel. Flavour is quite sweet, lightly roasted and sticky. 6/3/6/2/8 = 2.5

[Sampled in 2005.] A sweet beer for the style. Otherwise a mainstream product.

Bottled. Very dark ruby-brown colour, huge brownish/beige head. Aroma is fruits, earth, caramel malts and some mild smoked notes. Flavour is roasted malts, caramel malts, with some hints of smoke and chocolate. A bit rubbery/metallic in the finish, otherwise the flavour was really nice.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with a big, beige/brown fluffy head. Sweet, malty aroma with notes of caramel. Grassy notes appear as it warms. Flavour is pretty much the same, but has a sharp/sourish touch. Finish is malty with lingering notes of licorice and a medium bitterness. Feels a bit watery. 23-12-07.

wunderbier (1434) - Tampere, FINLAND - JAN 14, 2008
Dark brown in hue with a huge, tan, whipped cream looking head. Fairly big aroma of cocoa nibs, coffee beans (light roast), grass and toffee primarily. Behind that is some hay, pepper and a slightly dusty/chalky element. The flavour is incredibly sweet with lots of sugar and caramel -- milk chocolate and over-sweetened coffee to a lesser degree. The finish is half dry...paper or leather, softly bitter...fades into wateriness and apple skins. Sticky texture, medium (or just over) bodied and the carbonation is completely lost in the stickiness. All of the dust, paper, leather is uncalled for and it can be near cloying at times, but decent outside of that. 50cl, draught at Gastropub Praha.
