Bottle.Black with a small head and poured rather flat. Pretty liveless with some maltiness.Theres a trace of spice but the beer didn’t live up to my expectations.

Cask at Tap East, Stratford, London. Pours clearish brown with a fine, creamy beige head. Some Belgian yeast in the nose, doughy brown bread, some tangy, ripe dark fruits. Medium sweet flavor with lightly toasted bready and doughy malts, bit of yeast and candi sugar, light earth, plums and raisins. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly sticky sweet to finish with some semi-sharp, tangy darkening fruits, brown bread, mellow bitterness. Nice beer.

It’s not really working for me this one. It looks great, faint banana whiff to it, little bit of cloves on the tongue and that’s about it. The body is light and the texture is as thin as I’ve ever had. As flat as a Villa fan on a typical Saturday evening. But...it’s not terrible. Is that good enough? Maybe I’m missing something. I wanted to love this, I really did...
