COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Penryn Pale Ale is our take on a classic IPA. it has a fruity and hoppy nose with hints of peach and lemongrass, leaving a nice mellow bitterness on the tongue.

cask@gallows. Goldenbit stale, old malty nose. Some honey, meadowy. Light feel, easy bit thin. Finishes a bit dusty.

(Cask at Gallows Bird Real Ale Festival 2016) The beer poured deep golden and clear. Its head was small and white. Aroma had earth, mildly cellar and malts. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were malts, sweetness, earth and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy and bitter. A decent pale ale.

Cask at The Hain Line, St Ives (JDW) A clear pale amber colour with a thin white head. Aroma of grapefruit, orange, peach, some apricot, straw, slight lemongrass, straw, slight resin and floral hops. Taste of peach, apricot, some grapefruit, lemongrass, resin and floral hops. Light bodied and an oily texture. A bittersweet, citrus hop bitterness in the finish with some resin in the aftertaste. For a 4.3% beer this is quite complex. Loads of citrusy flavours, some resin and a little sweetness. Good stuff.

Bottle from the Bottle Bank. Appearance - amber rather than golden, some head. Nose - biscuits with a zing of lemon. Taste - more into toffee and biscuits, a vague note of citrus again. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a finish that could be a little fresher, to be honest. Overall - decent ale. The person who loaded it, correctly put it into Bitter rather than a particular Pale Ale style.

stravale (2648) - Near Carrick-on-Shannon, IRELAND - SEP 14, 2014
Bottle from Ales By Mail [200814]
Orange, murky, orange white frothy head
Aroma of sweet fruity malts, soft orange and lemon citrus
Taste of citrus zest, very yeasty, barley orange malts, grainy, bit sherberty, bitter orange
Palate - medium carb and body, quite smooth, sweet malts, fairly bitter hops. Finish as main flavour.
Overall - Poured with a large head, rather yeasty and musty which spoilt it. Not bad but far too much yeast sediment
