Pours a clear golden yellow with a white head and non pleasant aroma of straw and grains. Taste is boring and watery, of grains, malt, and caramel. Nothing good about this one.

0,35 l. bottle in to a flute. As Czech Rebel, 4,4 % alc. Clear, golden colour with a fast fading white head. Light grassy aroma with light malts and hops. The taste is light sweet. Medium body with a thin texture, soft carbonated. Finishes with grasses and malts, light bitterness. A bit of unpleasantness in the finish, something skunked in the flavour. A decent though average Czech beer.

Herber Beginn, der schnell bitter-blecherne Noten aufweist. Wässrig, etwas muffig. Hellmalzig süß, unrund. Weiterhin metallern. Muss nicht sein. 8/6/6/6/7/6

Brown bottle. Been wanten to try this ever since I saw that poster at my beer distributor a few years back. Always wondered why I never saw the real stuff. Yep, looks liek pale lager and it does have a popular check smell, but mind you its not skunky, its fresh. Stronger pale lager influence bordering on astringent lager hops thing happeneing. Yes, hoppy stuff builds as session continues. Sharper palate with decent carbonation. Same with finsh medium bitter linger goes long way. Ironically had to go to florida to get this even tho the poster was in pgh.

old rating, from bottle. clear gold with a fine white head. cooked corn and garbage disposal aromatic with lightly toasted semi-sweet pale malt and a moldy celery stew greenness with accompanying stale garbage and wet green note. gross. medium froth, harsher than any draft, and stripped by filtration. will re-rate on tap if given the chance.

Unfortunately there are not all that many Czech pilsener brands sold in this part of the world, as one in particular example dominates the market. This one will not be mistaken for that one. It’s rather dark amber and smells grainy and grassy, though no skunk. It has the classic pils flavor, a bit too sweet and bitter in the bite but not the real taste. it has a nice body and one would have no difficulty putting away a sixer over an afternoon. Needs more hops.

330ml bottle pours a pale golden color with a fluffy white head that retains well and leaves some thin lacing on the glass. Aroma is grains and hops. Taste is dominated by grassy hop bitterness with an underlying malt sweetness. Light to medium body with plenty of carbonation. Well done for the style and recommended.
