Not that good of a pilsner, though I’d like to try it from a keg. A bit of dank malt and the hops didn’t pop.

Bottle. Reasonably flavorful malt, somewhat sweet, with moderate levels of hopping. Pretty strong grassy/hay finish, somewhat unexpectedly. Not bad overall.

zgaier (1363) - Coral Springs, Florida, USA - JUN 8, 2012
Pours a clear golden yellow with a white head and non pleasant aroma of straw and grains. Taste is boring and watery, of grains, malt, and caramel. Nothing good about this one.

Pours a clear golden yellow. Aroma is straw , hay and grainy....not promising thus far. Taste is horrendous, metallic and grainy.....nothing more to say. Quaff Score 2 /10

brnandersen (1866) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAY 30, 2012
0,35 l. bottle in to a flute. As Czech Rebel, 4,4 % alc. Clear, golden colour with a fast fading white head. Light grassy aroma with light malts and hops. The taste is light sweet. Medium body with a thin texture, soft carbonated. Finishes with grasses and malts, light bitterness. A bit of unpleasantness in the finish, something skunked in the flavour. A decent though average Czech beer.

Koelschtrinker (10479) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - MAY 22, 2012
Herber Beginn, der schnell bitter-blecherne Noten aufweist. Wässrig, etwas muffig. Hellmalzig süß, unrund. Weiterhin metallern. Muss nicht sein. 8/6/6/6/7/6

Brown bottle. Been wanten to try this ever since I saw that poster at my beer distributor a few years back. Always wondered why I never saw the real stuff. Yep, looks liek pale lager and it does have a popular check smell, but mind you its not skunky, its fresh. Stronger pale lager influence bordering on astringent lager hops thing happeneing. Yes, hoppy stuff builds as session continues. Sharper palate with decent carbonation. Same with finsh medium bitter linger goes long way. Ironically had to go to florida to get this even tho the poster was in pgh.

old rating, from bottle. clear gold with a fine white head. cooked corn and garbage disposal aromatic with lightly toasted semi-sweet pale malt and a moldy celery stew greenness with accompanying stale garbage and wet green note. gross. medium froth, harsher than any draft, and stripped by filtration. will re-rate on tap if given the chance.
