Doppelganger (1126), Oxford, Oxfordshire, England Jun 17, 2008 Cask, Kings Arms, Kidlington. Warm copper, butter-cream fine head. Sort of a yellow smell—pollen, hay, the smell of a warm gravel road. Dry dusty candy hops, just a little toasty caramel. Light, refreshing, not bad, though not a ton of character.
renffisch (407), london, Greater London, England Jul 4, 2008 cask @ the wenlock. Aroma of rusty metal, freshly cut flowers, leather and tanning fluid. dark mahogany, no head to talk about, but that might have something to do with the over generous barperson at the wenlock, brimfull pint. Very floral taste, almost like chomping away on a bunch of tulips, very bitter with a bit of stewed fruit in the back. strangley dry but ok pint. bobinlondon (220), Harrow, Greater London, England Jun 25, 2008 Handpulled cask at JDW Watford. Mid brown with off-white lacy head. Plenty of juicey malt with a lovely mouth feel. Some grapefruit in a sustained but gentle bitter finish. Well brewed ale. berkshire_john (1058), Bracknell, Berkshire, England Jun 20, 2008 Cask at the Three Horseshoes, Marlow Bottom. Amber with a ring of cream head; malty aroma; full and fruity with a strong bitter taste, a long grapefruit finish, and a lingering malt flavour.
