3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: FEB 19, 2010 Cask (gravity dispense) at Ealing Beer Festival, July 2009. Fairly standard Rebellion fare. Darkish for a bitter and on the malty side, with the emphasis on plummy fruit notes. No particular problem with it, just that Rebellion beers often seem rather similar to me. (6/3/6/3/12 = 3.0)
RE-RATE. Cask (handpump) at the Wenlock Arms, Islington, 31 July 2009. Coppery colour. As usual with Rebellion, malt is clearly in evidence but thereís good balance here, with some bitterness. Much better this time than when I first tasted it. (6/4/7/4/14 = 3.5).

Cask conditioned at The Falkland Arms, Great Tew, Oxon. Red amber with white head. Quite a lot going on in this, fruity with a plum, grape type flavour then a deep bitterness in a chocolatey body. Very nice.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading. Reddish amber with a deep, dense cream head; sweet aroma of stewed plums and apple; really jammy fruit flavour, well-balanced with an intense bitterness, leaving a slightly peppery finish. Rather similar to last monthís Market Collapse - but nonetheless the best Reb Iíve tried for a while.
