COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Seasonal - September to November. Also available filtered in bottle.
This premium ale reflects the colour and intensity of Autumn. Its deep reddish hue derives from the addition of crystal malt in the grist. The flavour is predominantly malty with a subtle late hop character.

A Mes rate: Sugary aroma. Deep tan body with no head. Ok looks wise. Sweet alcoholic flavour that is soapy and sticky. Crap palate. Just too thin. Not that great.

Creamy head. Caramell aroma. Fruity taste with hard edges. Burned sugar and a somewhat dull hoppiness. Long sharp aftertaste.

Cask handpull at Thomas Ingoldsby, JDW, Canterbury. Deep chestnut colour, with disapearing thin beige head Some malts, some choc, some dark fruits. Fullish in mouth, some dark sour cherry. Finish has more fruit and tingly hop. Tad vinuous too.

Cask@Nottingham Beer Festival. Brown beer with a lightly bitter flavour and a light and malty aroma. Overall a plain beer.

Cask conditioned @ Giddy Bridge (JDW), Soton. Red with frothy beige head. According to JDW tasting notes the colour comes from red maize!? Initial roasted malt aromas and a thick creamy body. After a few sips the body becomes much thinner with a dry empty flavour reminiscent of some beers unders nitro.

Bottled. A deep brown beer with a ruby hue and no head. The aroma is malty and fruity with some butterscotch notes. The taste is malty and toasty with blackberry fruits, caramel and toffee. A buttery, creamy full body. Nice.

Didn’t like this at all. It looked good and the aroma was quite interesting, but the taste was hugely disappointing, even medicinal. I nearly poured it away, but persevered bravely to the end. Perhaps I’ll try it again because I like the name.

Draught. Dark red coloured, with small white head. A roasted malt flavour, with some dark fruit. Surprisingly hoppy, citrus notes. Slightly bitter finish.
