2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Cask conditioned @ Giddy Bridge (JDW), Soton. Red with frothy beige head. According to JDW tasting notes the colour comes from red maize!? Initial roasted malt aromas and a thick creamy body. After a few sips the body becomes much thinner with a dry empty flavour reminiscent of some beers unders nitro.

2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Didn’t like this at all. It looked good and the aroma was quite interesting, but the taste was hugely disappointing, even medicinal. I nearly poured it away, but persevered bravely to the end. Perhaps I’ll try it again because I like the name.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Cask Conditioned, at the Wenlock Arms, London.
Reddish bronze colour, thin with very little head. Sharp bitter aroma. Metallic, copper flavour which linger rather painfully on the palate. Needs washing down with something else. Make it a Brewers Gold extra please guv.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask Conditioned at The Bell, Gt. Bourton, Oxon. Deep copper colour with bubbly head. Good medium roasted malt base with biscuit and caramel, than a fruity, oaky overlaid flavour. A little quick on the finish but there is a pepper note at the end.
