Fin (2179), Merton, Oxfordshire, England May 26, 2008 Cask, gravity at Merton Beer Festival 04, retrospectively added from notes taken at the time. Pours amber in colour, barely any head to speak of. Nice maltiness to this beer though also quite crisp and a little dryness at the end, quite run of the mill but not bad. imdownthepub (4017), Banbury, Oxfordshire, Oxfordshire, England Sep 19, 2004 Cask Conditioned at Merton Beer Festival ’04. Amber coloured with a thin white head. Malty dry standard bitter with a touch of powdery caramel. Easy drinking with a late hop note. Spiesy (2330), Global Citizen, Greater London, England Sep 7, 2004 Cask Conditioned, at the Wenlock Arms, London. Golden bronze coloured body. Moderate malts with good bitter bite. Clean and crisp with nothing unpleasant or offensive. SilkTork (3865), Rochester, Kent, England Sep 6, 2004 Bright bottled at Maidstone Festival. Caramel flavoured slightly smokey best bitter. Smooth and attractive malty beer. Perhaps lacks hops or greater malt complexity to provide sustained interest.
