[Cask at the Bootlegger, High Wycombe] Very attractive deep ruby brown with a thick, creamy head. Rich, sweet treacley malt up front is perfectly balanced by a moderate woodland mulch bitterness at the finish. A really nice, comforting ale. Rebellionís monthly specials are normally dull as ditchwater, but once a year they do one that stands head and shoulders above the rest - this must be the one for this year! Would suggest this is a brown ale rather than the bitter itís been entered as, but guess itís pretty irrelevant on a monthly special.
