2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
(bottle) Clear, pale golden colour with a moderate foamy white head, leaving lace-work. The aroma is not very different to the Lager Hell: slightly sweet, a bit buttery and nutty nose with a light dose of herbal hops. Light bitter flavour, rather malt-accented taste with a touch of cardboard and a moderate to light herbal note in the background. Dryish malty and slightly bitter finish with a bit of hops-character coming through. All in all nothing special and rather disappointing by Franconian standards.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Hard to get too excited about this one. Straw colour. Slight grassy aroma. Not a lot of flavour - hints of dry malt and soft hops. Could do with a bit more bitterness. Smooth but short of bite. Perfectly acceptable but entirely unexceptional.

(i’m pretty sure this was draught)@GBBF 05’. Pretty avergae German pilsner, which means drinkable and clean without being interesting. Grassy hops, clean, with some bitterness, refrshing, lightly fizzy.
