Bottle. Pours dark brown with medium off white head. Aroma was light bourbon, vanilla, caramel, touch of barrel. Flavor was big bourbon, more barrel, sweet caramel malts. Bourbon did take over but that is not a bad thing in my opinion. Already I can say this is one of the finest Red Brick offerings I’ve had. Nice full mouth. Lovely.

2/9/13. 12oz bottle from my buddy Steve, the main man at Kickback’s! As I poured, it was a nice brown pour with a decent tan head. I didn’t really realize there would be so much yeast, so as I finished pouring, big glops of yeast when floating all around. Ohhh well. Still some light BA on the aroma on this puppy, bits of fudge, oak, and bourbon, with touches of caramel and oxidation. The flavor is a bit richer, thicker, and sweeter, with bourbon, lots of caramel, oxidation, some oak, and a lingering dry bitterness. Not bad.

Bottle from mixmasterob. Thanks! Pours hazy ruddy brown. Nice against the sun. Aroma is oaky and vinous!! Full bodied. Flavor is oaky, a little bourbon, but there’s a little bit of grape. Finishes fairly balanced. Oak bitter finish. Nicely done.

Bottle shared by Lunch. Thanks Paul. The beer is brown with hints of crimson, and transparent. The cap is light beige, and leaves some random traces of lacing on the glass. The aroma is of oak, bourbon, malt. It smells robust and strong. The flavor confirms this. Lots of oak and bourbon, followed by a subtle tannic note. Alcohol heat is hidden pretty well, for the most part. This is good stuff. I would have this again. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 09-18-2011

This beer is a cloudy reddish-brown color with a medium light tan head that diminishes slowly. Small patches of lacing. The aroma consists of bourbon, malt and vanilla. Full-bodied with an oaky bourbon character and notes of vanilla, malt and dark fruit. The finish is moderately boozy with a lingering woody aftertaste. Above average overall.
