Dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma is vanilla and spice, some nutmeg and cinnamon. Off putting for some reason. Flavor is a bit harsh. Strong vanilla and bitter spice. Almost like burnt cinnamon. Very sugary finish. Wife: 3.4

Tasted on 2/8/14 from a bottle at the late night tasting after the RBWG Grand Tasting. Pours clear brown/amber with an average beige head that leaves a thin collar of lace. The nose is bourbon, caramel, toffee, cereal, toasted bitterness, and a touch of green hops. The flavor is a bit more bitter than I expected with more hops and the toasted character from the the nose, along with nice caramel malt and plenty of maple bourbon. The body is full with average carbonation and a long bitter caramel and maple bourbon finish.

Deep red pour with white head and lace. Aroma is dried fruit/raisins and citrus hops. Flavor is dried fruit and a resiny bitter. Medium body with good carbonation.

Pour is dark copper, a bit murky with a small amount of tan head. Nose is tons of sticky caramel and a bit of brown sugar, a decent bit of rich maltiness, light bourbon notes and a hint of wood. Taste is a bit sweet, the rich malts depth isn’t quite there, a good bit of caramel and more brown sugar, slightly cooked, flavor thins towards the back. Bourbon comes in on the finish, soft, full bodied and moderate carbonation and a bit of lingering booziness.

12oz bottle from dmac. Thanks bro! Pours a cloudy mahogany brown color with a small foamy off white head. Aroma of sweet caramel, dried dark fruit, bourbon, dry wood, and leather. Taste of sweet fruit, lots of caramel, dry wood, hints of bourbon, and earthy hops.

12 oz bottle pours a dark brown color with an off white head. Aromas off burnt sugar, bourbon, sweet dark roasted malt. Full bodied, sticky finish.

12 ounce bottle from Ale Yeah. This is a big caramel brown sugar bomb. Sweet and boozy. Sugar overtakes any trace of bourbon. Needs more balance.

Bottle thanks to Dmac. Pours out a lightly reddish to dark brown color with no real head to speak of. Aroma is of burnt wood, cigar humidor, caramel, peat moss, and some light sweetness. Taste is caramel, light toffee, burnt wood, maduro cigar, earth, soil, vanilla and some mild lingering alcohol on the finish. Interesting.

Good beer that I had hoped was going to be a great beer. Pours nearly clear on the lighter side of dark brown with minimal head. Scent is booze and bourbon. The flavor is a bit skewed towards bourbon and booze. A touch thin for style. Bottle - Ale Yeah! - Decatur, GA
