12oz bottle, courtesy of markwise, pours with a nice murky amber body that supports a thin light tan head. The aroma offers up molasses, prunes, brown sugar, some nuttiness and then mild smooth bourbon and booze. Nice indeed. The taste starts smooth and rich with molasses and smooth nutty sweetness and then quickly picking up brown sugar dredged prunes and dates amid a pleasing pine hoppiness. Just as the dark fruity esters start to reach nectar goodness the smooth sweet bourbon notes come to the surface with more nuttiness and some modest booze to help bring this to the finish. This is a great sipper.

Taster at RBWG 2014 grand tasting - thanks to the person who shared this! 12oz bottle. Aged in bourbon barrels, it says. Clear amber orange red color. Little ring of off-white head. Couple dots and ropes of lace. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, lighter, kind of soft carbonation. More dry finish. Good caramel malty toasty aroma. Moderate sweet taste, very light bitter. Light alcohol. Decent barrel aged barleywine. A little caramel malty sweet for me, hints of oxidization, but a decent barrel aged barleywine.

Bottle to snifter (shared by jmborggren). Looks good; a translucent caramel with thin lacing somewhere between off-white and light beige. Smells solid; sweet malt, caramel, oak, vanilla, and bourbon. Tastes like it smells with a solid mouthfeel. Enjoyable.

UPDATED: MAY 27, 2014 Bottle - Oak, caramel and molasses. Clear dark caramel with a rich beige head. Buttery pecan, oak and dark sugars. A bit burnt and boozy in the finish, but for this price I am not going to complain.

12oz bottle thanks to TBS. Poured a deep burnt orange/brown under a smaller dense foamy beige head. Aroma is sweet, molasses, toffee, caramel, raisin, oak and vanilla. Thick chewy body with soft to average carbonation and a very dry finish. Flavor really has the oak dominating throughout and the sweeter notes drying out. Dried out caramel, vanilla candies, dried bread crusts, citrus and some nuts. Good stuff.
